Arthur had stooped so low by bringing that up, but seeing the rage and pain in Jaxon's eyes, it appeased his own anger. He had never been rejected so outright like this.
"Stay away from her," Jaxon warned Arthur and then stepped aside to avoid him.
He walked out of the room, but ordered a warrior to keep his eyes on his father's movements. He knew his father well. He did not respond well to rejection.
Turning down his help wouldn't make him back down; instead, he would see it as a challenge to his authority, especially with the problem as big as this one.
After talking to Arthur, Jaxon went to his room and found Fenja watching a movie. She was surprised to see him.
"Alpha, are you angry?" Fenja blurted out when she saw the look on Jaxon's face.
"I am not." Jaxon went straight to the bathroom to calm himself down. His conversation with his father earlier made him realize that he had given himself another problem.
