Fenja didn't feel fine. She felt that her head was throbbing, and her ears were ringing, but 'fine' was the default answer she was accustomed to using; she didn't even think twice when she gave that response. It felt normal, just like breathing.
She was not used to having people worry about her; thus, she always brushed off all the concerns. As long as she could handle it and it was bearable, she was fine.
"Do you remember what happened?" Alpha Jaxon asked again. He sat down on the edge of the bed, watching her reaction closely.
Fenja pressed her lips and then answered him softly. "No. I don't."
Alpha Jaxon didn't say anything for a while, but when someone entered the room, he muttered under his breath. "Lie."
Fenja looked at his eyes, and she could see his disdain there. He hated a liar.
Fenja lowered her gaze and let the doctor check on her. Only then did she realize she was in a hospital.
