The atmosphere was tense. Luckily the auction had began. The items were good I have to say. The bid for each item went up to two million. Sigh. Well nothing Nelly can't give. In an equally high amount of points.
Everyone had founded something for themselves. Lorelai bought Frost wood block for 13 million. Blake bought Dark-ice ore for 13.5 million. Koga bought Poision mushroom-Death cap for 12 million. Will bought psychic spoons of alakazam-of now deceased previous Hoenn champion ace alakazam. Karen bought a dark-fire ore for 13.8 million. Bruno bought a fighting essence for 12.4 million. Flora bought a green ore for 12.9 million. Giovanni bought a Ground energy filled bark in 14 million. Lance too bought dragon fang for 14 million.
Sigh. It makes sense after all every item was of king premium level. All type enhancing items range from normal to king premium level. Evolutionary items range till premium level. Why this distinction. No idea. It just exist as it is.
No wonder it is the most elite auction in the hole of Kanto only happening in every two year. Even then only 8 king premium item are shown till now. I can't spend all my money for one pokemon only. I have to equally distribute resources after all to each of my team mate.
And even if I did try to bid, the others here will definitely outbid me. After all they all have in advanced prepared for the auction today. With how everyone acted like it was normal and expected, yeah...
Then only a shiny magikarp appeared. Suprisingly it was of champion potential. The bid for it immediately went to three million. Most suprising was how Lance bid for it, immediately increasing his bid by two million whenever someone tried to outbid him. Wait wasn't it wrong. Lance was supposed to catch shiny gyarados of lake of rage after all. Butterfly effect maybe.
Nelly seeing this sighed and thought 'If not for host eradicating team rocket and splittilg the league of both regions, Lance right now would have been extremely busy with both Kanto and Jhoto.'
Finally Lance won the bid and got the shiny magikarp. For some reason it felt like Lance and magikarp knew each other. Must be my imagination.
Anyway I had already accepted that I would not get a single item from here when...
This is our last item for today. A unique beautiful stone. As it was pokemon auction not many were interested but I was. Through Nelly appraisal system I was able to see it for what it was. A dual water-dark stone. A premium king item too. Apparently it was the first time unearthed in this world by human. This will be perfect for a certain pokemon's final evolution, that is if I succeed in finding a way to evolve it into that species.
But the bid was not high. Oh this thing is definitely mine.
"1 million." I raised the bid. Everyone besides me was shocked. They wanted to warn me but thought it would look rude to correct a champion in front of everyone. I won the bid. Oh everyone is gonna cry tears of blood when they realize what they loosed.
After the auction ended everyone went to retrieve the items. The auction head though was smiling widely at me. Creepy. When he came to give me the item he said something that made everyone head snap up.
"You knew what this item actually is don't you miss Champion." The auction head Ronnald said. I was suprised. So this guy knew the true value of this stone. But why did he then sell this item to me in such low price.
Seeing my expression he chuckled and said "You abillity to hide your expression when suuprised is really poor. Just like how your mother was when she was young."
That caught my attention. My eyes widen as I realize. This is the man mother was talking about. The one who owns half the businesses' in the kanto region, his company literally dominates the Kanto market and has its branches in many other regions too. If not in all regions.
Years ago he was the one that sponsored my mother half of the journey. And that sponsership included buying premium king level item with ease and all. In return mama only used his company produced items. And in this world trainers are more popular than actors and idols.
So seeing this many people started buying Ronald's company product only. And because of it his company rose to the level where in the forbes he was declared as the richest man of the world. Seeing this the trend of sponsoring trainers among rich elites increased.
He just chuckled and handed me the stone. He showed a gesture of hand shake. I obviously accepted it. This was certainly interesting.
