Chapter 142: Twin Tang Sans Meet
As they walked out of Soto City's Great Spirit Arena, Dai Mubai lowered his voice. "Little San, what do you think about this Tianshui Team? I just heard some news—apparently, a few girls arrived in town recently, and every single one of them is a knockout."
Tang San's expression turned serious. "Seems they really are from Tianshui Academy. Whether this is a butterfly effect from our reincarnation or someone trying to target us, it's hard to say. We'll only know for sure after we fight them tomorrow."
"Tianshui Academy shouldn't be much weaker than the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy. I may have to use the Eight Spider Lances again. I'll ask my father to come watch."
Hearing this calmed the Shrek Six Devils. Even though Tang Hao was only a Soul Sage now, he could still fight at Titled Douluo level when he went all out—and with the backing of the continent's number one sect. If someone tried to target them, or if another reincarnator appeared, they could deal with it ahead of time.
"By the way, Little San—when are we getting the immortal herbs?"
Dai Mubai's grin revealed his greed, and the other five showed similar looks. Tang Hao's training method was fantastic—they were all growing rapidly. But nothing beat the kind of growth the celestial herbs offered—gaining four to five levels instantly and rocketing forward in cultivation afterward.
"Don't worry. Once we head to Heaven Dou City, I'll use the pretense of training in Sunset Forest to fetch them."
Tang San smiled faintly. He craved the herbs too—but more than that, he didn't want the Clear Sky Clan getting their hands on them or occupying the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. If his father hadn't shown up unexpectedly to protect him, he would've gone straight to Dugu Bo after obtaining the Eight Spider Lances.
In their past lives, Dugu Bo poisoned him three times before finally accepting him. If it weren't for the Aromatic Silk Beauty Immortal Herb and the Eight Spider Lances, Tang San would've died.
But he didn't blame his father. Waiting a few months longer for the herbs wouldn't kill him.

The next day, Soto City's Great Spirit Arena was packed. The crowd roared:
"Shrek! Shrek! Shrek!"
"Monsters! Monsters! Monsters!"
After the Shrek Seven showcased their strength, the nickname "Monsters" had gone from insult to badge of honor.
As Dai Mubai, Oscar, Tang San, Ma Hongjun, Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing took the stage, even after reincarnation, they still relished the cheers.
Behind a special crystal wall, Flender, Zhao Wuji, Yu Xiaogang, and Qin Ming gathered to watch the spectacle.
Learning that their opponents were from Tianshui, Qin Ming had brought the entire Heaven Dou team to watch from another room—to study Shrek's seamless teamwork.
Tang Hao sat alone behind another crystal panel, drinking from a wine jug, uninterested in the match.
He wouldn't have come at all if he weren't worried someone might try to steal Tang San's imperfectly fused Eight Spider Lances. He believed his son was unmatched at his level. The only threats were from Spirit Hall's Qian clan or Bone Douluo's son, Gu Chen.
"Well, well, Tang Hao. Long time no see."
A familiar voice interrupted his drink—a voice that had haunted him for years.
Putting down the jug, Tang Hao looked up to see a tall, golden-haired, strikingly handsome man. "Qian… Greetings, Your Holiness the Pope. What brings you here?"
Tang Hao stood and cupped his hands in a respectful salute.
No matter how much he hated Qian Xunji, face to face, he had to show respect. Otherwise, it would be considered a grave offense. Qian Xunji could attack at any moment, and Tang Hao still had to protect Tang San and Xiao Wu.
A dazed look crossed Tang Hao's face as he remembered meeting Tang San at Shrek Academy.
"Six years have passed. Little San, do you resent me for abandoning you all that time?"
Tang San had shaken his head. "No, I don't."
"Why not?" Tang Hao had asked.
"Because you're my father. You gave me life. Without you, I wouldn't exist. Children never have the right to blame their parents."
Tang Hao recalled Tang San's gentle smile—guilt, regret, gratitude, and determination had all surged through him. From that moment, he swore to protect his son, even if it cost him his life.
"I left Spirit Hall and passed by Tianshui Academy to visit my son. On the way, I sensed a soul beast's aura…"
Before he could finish, Tang Hao cut him off. "Your Holiness, Xiao Wu is already with my son. Just like you and Ah Yin—she's on humanity's side now. She won't betray us!"
"I understand that. But don't forget, Tang Hao—you killed that 100,000-year Soft Bone Rabbit's kin. If she ever learns the truth, will she stay loyal?"
Tang Hao couldn't respond. If he said she wouldn't care, Qian Xunji would accuse her of being heartless and justify taking her down.
Back when Xiao Wu had called him "Father-in-law" so sweetly, Tang Hao had questioned things himself. How could my precious son fall for a treacherous rabbit like her? But because he owed Tang San too much, and his son truly loved her, he let it go.
"I am always merciful," Qian Xunji said smugly. "For Ah Yin and Tang Yuehua's sake, I'll turn a blind eye. But if I ever see that rabbit show even a hint of betrayal, I won't hesitate to act."
Tang Hao sneered inside—Qian Xunji, merciful? What a joke. But all he could do was bow. "Thank you for your grace, Your Holiness."
Meanwhile, the Tianshui Team and the Shrek Seven stood facing each other in the arena.
All familiar faces.
The Shrek Seven scanned the opposing team, and their eyes locked onto the unfamiliar figure standing at the rear of Tianshui's lineup—Qian Renchuan. It seemed that in this life, their encounter with Tianshui was due to him… or perhaps someone behind him.
Qian Renchuan noticed the stares and frowned. He didn't understand why they were looking at him. Since all of the Shrek Seven wore masks, and he wasn't using his Purple Demon Eye, he couldn't recognize any of them.
Even if he did use it, he wouldn't recognize Tang San or Ning Rongrong. Tang San's appearance had drastically declined, and he'd only glanced at Ning Rongrong once in the past.
