Chapter 137: Ning Fengzhi Wants to Raise a 100,000-Year Soul Beast
Ning Fengzhi still disdained arguing with a loser like Yu Xiaogang. Instead, he turned to Tang Hao and said, "Brother Tang Hao, I'm quite busy. Would you mind taking some time to instruct these children, including my rather useless daughter?"
Tang Hao nodded. As a disciple of the Clear Sky Clan and once the famed Clear Sky Douluo, he never thought much of Yu Xiaogang's training methods.
As for the idea that "there are no strongest soul masters, only the most perfect team," he thought it was absolute nonsense.
The Clear Sky Hammer was the strongest. Teamwork? Garbage. Add in the Clear Sky Formation and a support-type like the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda and that was enough.
Now that he was already here, with time on his hands, Tang Hao would personally guide Tang San and the other clueless kids. He'd show them the training methods of the continent's number one clan.
Tang San's eyes gleamed with excitement. He was deeply moved. His father was going to train him personally. As for Yu Xiaogang? With all his emotional damage and daddy issues, Tang San had basically forgotten he existed.
Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, Oscar, Dai Mubai, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ma Hongjun were also excited. As much as they respected Yu Xiaogang, human nature leaned toward strength—and Tang Hao was a Titled Douluo with a 100,000-year soul ring.
Tang Hao ordered the Shrek teachers to scour the mountains for a waterfall—one at least five meters wide. He was about to temper the Shrek Seven.
Tang San's heart surged. He clearly remembered: in his past life, Tang Hao had sealed his cultivation and made him train under a waterfall. In just two years, he'd rocketed from level 44 to level 50—a full Soul Ancestor rank.
If Dai Mubai and Ning Rongrong ever found out, their worship of Yu Xiaogang would vanish. Yu had trained them for two years, and they only advanced from level 37 to 40, and from Grandmaster to Soul Elder.
The strength gap was evident. Shrek Academy's teachers moved immediately to find a waterfall—everyone except level 29 Yu Xiaogang. His power was too weak, and his martial soul was a pig.
He stood there awkwardly, unsure whether to stay or leave. He could clearly see that both Ning Fengzhi and Tang Hao looked down on his training methods.
But where had he gone wrong?
"Rongrong, train well. I'll be informed of your progress at Shrek Academy at all times."
With those words, Ning Fengzhi and Bone Douluo left.
After they were some distance away, Bone Douluo asked, "Fengzhi, why didn't you let me kill Tang San? Tang Hao's only a Soul Sage. He's no match for me and couldn't have escaped."
"If you were worried about being exposed, I could have wiped out everyone in Shrek Academy—no witnesses, no trail. We could've blamed everything on Spirit Hall."
"And that 100,000-year transformed soul beast? We could've captured and raised it. One day, it could be Chen'er's ninth soul ring."
"Not wise, Uncle Bone."
Ning Fengzhi shook his head, eyes grave, and shared his earlier thoughts: using Tang San and Gu Chen in the future to counterbalance Qian Renxue and Qian Renchuan.
"Uncle Bone, Spirit Hall is terrifying right now. They've publicly shown eight Titled Douluo. Who knows how many more are hidden? The Upper Three Clans can barely breathe."
"For the next generation: Blue Lightning Twins Yu Tianxin and Yu Tianheng, Tang San of the Clear Sky Clan, and our own Gu Chen and Rongrong. Only when they grow stronger and the clans unite can we stand against Spirit Hall. For now, we need stability."
Bone Douluo finally understood. Killing Tang San now might weaken the Clear Sky Clan, but it would also leave the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect alone against Spirit Hall in the future.
Ning Fengzhi even regretted crippling Bibi Dong too soon. If only she had lived longer and borne more children… Two wasn't enough—one attack-type and one support. In hindsight, it wasn't nearly sufficient.
Then, his eyes lit up with an interesting smile. "Uncle Bone, did you catch that part? Tang Hao said Qian Xunji's wife is a soul beast."
Bone Douluo's lip twitched. "Qian Xunji, Tang Xiao, Tang Hao… what weird tastes. Human women aren't good enough? They had to go after soul beasts?"
"If it weren't for Tang San falling for one too, and Rongrong becoming friends with her, we could've leaked this to stir outrage against Spirit Hall."
Ning Fengzhi sighed. "Uncle Bone, think a little bigger. Qian Renxue's monstrous talent? That came from Qian Xunji and that 100,000-year transformed soul beast."
"Wait… you're not saying…"
Bone Douluo's mouth twitched again. Was Ning Fengzhi seriously considering this? Was he going to bed a soul beast now too?
"If Spirit Hall and the Clear Sky Clan can do it, why can't we? The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect is rich in resources. We could easily raise a 100,000-year soul beast."
Ning Fengzhi's tone turned solemn. "A 100,000-year soul beast is like a Titled Douluo among humans. They're immensely powerful—often able to kill Titled Douluo in one-on-one combat. And their intelligence rivals humans."
"Once they reach 100,000 years, they have a thousand years left to live. If they want more, they must transform."
"Such a guardian beast, raised for a thousand years and then transformed, could be the next Qian Renxue or Tang San."
Bone Douluo was stunned. "Fengzhi, don't go too far! Soul beasts are proud, and they hate humans. You might end up raising another Bibi Dong!"
Ning Fengzhi was well aware of the risks. But if he succeeded, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect would thrive for another 1,300 years.
"So we must choose carefully—preferably one of the holy-light type. They tend to be gentle."
"If raised from youth, emotional bonds over the years will dull any hatred. Not every soul beast is like Bibi Dong."
"And if it turns out rebellious, we'll kill it before it reaches 100,000 years. Use it as a soul ring for our disciples. If that happens, we abandon the project forever."
With Qian Xunji and Tang San as precedents, Ning Fengzhi believed this wasn't a bad gamble. The sect had immense wealth—it was time to use it.
Still, how had Rongrong bonded so closely with these people in just a few days—and even with that soul beast?
But as long as Ning Rongrong stayed in love with Tang San, Ning Fengzhi would never find out the truth.
