Ten Miles of Red Makeup.
Sun Lili sat at the front desk, eyes fixed on the company entrance, waiting for guests to arrive.
At the moment, there weren't any, so she glanced at her computer. The screen was filled with news about Chen Mo. Lately, his name had been everywhere online. Young, handsome, and wildly successful—he had become the gold standard of an ideal partner for countless women.
Unfortunately for them, that legendary man had already announced he was taken. That one bit of news had shattered the hearts of many admirers.
I wonder if my future partner could be even one-thousandth as wealthy as him...
It had been four years since she started working here. She'd seen countless romantic weddings take place, each one tugging at her heart. But she was still single.
Suddenly, the front doors opened, and a small group of people walked in, pulling Sun Lili out of her daydreams.
Without looking closely at their faces, she stood up instinctively.
"Welcome, sir, madam. This is the Ten Miles of Red Makeup Wedding Company. May I ask how I can—"
She stopped mid-sentence, eyes locking on the man in front of her.
Wait… is this real?
Sun Lili blinked several times, unsure if she was seeing things. Maybe staring at pictures of him online had short-circuited her brain. But no—those features were unmistakable: young, striking, and exuding a calm confidence that captivated countless women.
"Ch-Chen Mo? Are you... Mr. Chen Mo?" she asked, still struggling to believe her eyes.
"Hello," Chen Mo replied with a polite nod.
"It is you!" Sun Lili gasped, mouth forming a perfect 'O'. "Please, come in! This way, please!"
Without hesitation, Chen Mo took Xiao Yu's hand and followed her inside. Alongside them were Xiao Man and Little Fisher, the latter curiously peeking around. Wang Hai and Black Hawk flanked them on either side like silent bodyguards.
Their arrival instantly drew attention.
"Wait… was that Chen Mo?"
"No way—he's actually here? And those look like twins!"
"That must be his fiancée! She's gorgeous!"
Some of the female staff shot jealous glances at Xiao Yu and Little Fisher. Why couldn't it be me beside him?
Chen Mo remained unaware of the stir his presence caused. Luckily, there weren't any other customers consulting at the moment—just the staff of the wedding company—so things stayed relatively calm.
Sun Lili guided them into a VIP room, poured tea for Chen Mo and the sisters, and sneaked glances at Xiao Yu with a mix of envy and admiration.
"Please have some tea," she said with a professional smile. "Mr. Chen, are you here to discuss wedding arrangements? Our company has over twenty years of experience and the top planning team in the country—"
Before she could finish, a voice called out outside the office.
"Manager! Manager!"
Liang Jing was sipping her coffee while reviewing a wedding plan when someone burst into her office.
Her brows knit together. "What's the matter?"
The girl who rushed in was normally diligent and composed, so the sudden panic was uncharacteristic.
"Manager, it's—Chen Mo! Chen Mo is here!"
"Chen who?" Liang Jing frowned. "We've talked about this—stay professional. Don't startle guests."
"No, I mean Chen Mo! From the Marching Ant Company! He's here, with his fiancée!"
Liang Jing paused mid-sip. Two seconds later, she sprayed coffee all over the table.
Ignoring the now-soaked wedding plan, she jumped to her feet, her face flushed with a mix of shock and excitement.
"Cough… You mean that Chen Mo? He came here?"
"Yes!" the girl nodded furiously.
"You're not messing with me, right?"
"Manager, I wouldn't dare! He's in the VIP room. Sun Lili is hosting him. She told me to come get you!"
"Quick, take me there!"
Liang Jing didn't even stop to change out of her heels. She hurried out of the office, practically running toward the reception room.
Outside the VIP room, she paused to tidy her hair and adjust her outfit. Taking a breath, she knocked on the door with her best professional smile.
Sun Lili, upon seeing her, breathed a sigh of relief. With a guest as important as Chen Mo, the stakes were high. If things went well, she could be in for a bonus. If not… she might not even keep her job. Now that the manager had arrived, the pressure was off her shoulders.
"Mr. Chen, hello! I'm the branch manager here. I'm terribly sorry I wasn't here to welcome you earlier," Liang Jing said, stepping forward eagerly. "You and Miss Xiao Yu are here to discuss your wedding plans? You didn't need to come personally. Just one call and we would've come to you."
"It's no trouble," Chen Mo replied, shaking her hand. "We haven't even decided on a date yet."
Seeing how approachable he was, Liang Jing relaxed a bit and sat on the sofa opposite him.
"Mr. Chen, our company has the most experienced planning team in China. We've hosted weddings for countless celebrities and elite clients. No matter your vision, we can bring it to life."
Chen Mo gestured toward Sun Lili. "She already told me all that. No need to repeat it."
"Understood. Then let me get straight to the point. Do you have any specific requirements for the wedding?"
Chen Mo reached into his pocket and pulled out a USB drive, handing it to her. "The details are on here. If your team can design a feasible plan based on that, we'll entrust the wedding to your company."
"Absolutely! We'll even have the head office planning team take this on," Liang Jing said excitedly, accepting the USB with both hands. "Do you already have a date in mind?"
"Half a month from now."
"In that case, we'll have a proposal ready the day after tomorrow. Do you also need assistance with wedding photography or custom dresses? We partner with top designers and have extensive photography resources."
She handed Chen Mo an album filled with wedding dress styles and sample photo shoots.
"We already have dresses," Chen Mo said as he browsed through the album. "Just need to confirm the photography."
"Got it. Anything else we should prepare?"
Chen Mo thought for a moment, then shook his head. "We'll talk again once your plan is ready."
"Of course! We'll deliver it as soon as possible."
After sending Chen Mo and Xiao Yu off, Liang Jing could hardly contain her excitement. Without wasting a second, she called the head office directly.
This was more than a high-profile client—it was an opportunity that could skyrocket the company's reputation across the country.
