Ethan's POV
Ethan knelt beside Maya's unconscious form in the cave, checking her pulse for the third time in two minutes.
"Is she going to be okay?" Emma asked in a small voice, moving closer to her mother.
"I don't know, sweetheart," Ethan said honestly. "Your mama used a lot of energy saving us all."
Kai sat against the cave wall, holding baby Hope and looking terrible. The wolfsbane poison was still in his system, and now he was worried sick about Maya too.
"She has to be okay," Kai whispered. "I can't lose her again. Not after everything."
Through the waterfall entry, they could hear voices getting closer. The pack members who had felt Hope's birth were coming to find them.
"Alpha Kai!" someone called out. "Are you in there?"
"Here," Kai called back softly.
Elder Marcus Sterling was the first to push through the stream, followed by several other pack members. They stopped short when they saw the scene in the cave.
