Pushing Rin back, Yuta looked at him "Why did you do that".
"Come on, I heard you are the new challenge that I must prove my superiority towards," Rin said chucklingly.
"Now that you have met him, will you take up my offer," Tino said.
Looking back at his master, Yuta then sighed before staring back Rin who was looking at him amused.
"I accept".
"The fight will be held at sunset where the whole town can watch you boys go at it", Tino said smirking.
"I hope you don't plan on going easy on me," Rin said before walking away.
"Are you sure you want to accept these conditions," Luna asked
"I do".
At sunrise, the whole town had gathered clearly in anticipation of the young men who were about to go at it.
"Welcome everyone to another Tino tavern slug fest," Tino said holding a mic
"Hell yeah," Livastin citizens shouted
"If you want to make your bets, make them at the stand," Tino said with a smirk
The men quickly rushed to the betting stall to place their bets
MEANWHILE
"Yuta, you are ready?" Luna asked looking at him
"Yeah".
Yuta dressed in simple gear, a strapped boot, with his tattered clothes, a cloak to mask his identity.
"You ready Luna?" Yuta asked
"Of course, let's go make some money," Luna said with a smirk
The sword strapped at Yuta back suddenly glowed bright red as both his and Luna eyes were locked at the door in front, Yuta smiled before stepping out.
Stepping out of his chamber, Rin looked at the people shouting before slumping back to his bed
"Another fight huh, another scheme to keep mom's tavern afloat," Rin said sighing
"You are right master Rin".
"Yeah Kuro"
Kuro taking a human form looked at Yuta with his piercing green eyes as Yuta stepped outside.
Kuro placed his hands at the window as he stared at Yuta.
"He is going to be worthwhile to fight Rin", Kuro said with a smirk
"I know, let's go," Rin said as Kuro dissolved into the air holding his sword.
Standing outside, Yuta was in awe. The light glimmered brightly, the environment carried a scenery better than the one that the abyss carried all through his life. The wind is peaceful as I gently brushed his face. The peaceful moment was interrupted by a voice
"You ready Yuta," Rin asked opposite him.
Looking down, Yuta only gave a nod.
The two contestants stood across each other, taking in whatever inner fear they felt before facing each other uprightly.
"Okay, both contestants have arrived, as we commence the fight, let me make the rules clear to you"
"Your opponent wins if the crystal strapped to you is broken or the other forfeits. Any means necessary is allowed," Tino screamed
"This is your last chance to back out now, will you Yuta," Rin asked one last time
"No, something about you wants me to fight you," Yuta said with a serious expression
"Don't chicken out because you start doing poorly though," Rin said smiling
"We are ready folks, let's begin" Tino said
The whole place became quiet, Yuta and Rin who were standing suddenly disappeared and what echoed through the arena was the sound of two metals striking each other.
Yuta and Rin in opposite places stood before turning back to each other
"I am surprised you are still standing, few still stand after my first strike" Rin said with amusement.
"Same".
The whole place went into eruption and applause.
Yuta charged a Rin swiftly but Rin was two steps ahead, blocking Yuta strike absolutely before chanting
"Twin Vortex"
Everyone and everything slowed down, it was like time slowed down for everyone except Rin, his pierced emerald eyes shined brightly as he walked up to Yuta
"You have done well enough," Rin said looking at Yuta paused in time
"First style: Falling petal- Cries of the dead," Rin moved in 10, 20, 100 directions before stopping.
As time resumed, Rin standing beside Yuta as he patted Yuta in the head saying "Well done".
"Huh," Yuta responded to find marks over all his body, his body bled quietly, his shirt torn but his crystal not yet broken.
Rin had attempted to win through making Yuta incapable of fighting anymore.
Rin thought to himself as he walked back "Another Failure" but I thought he was different.
Rin stopped to turn to Yuta whose killing intent was over the place.
"You are alive huh?", Rin said in amusement.
"Of Course, these cuts can do nothing to me," Yuta said laughing uncomfortably.
"I am genuinely impressed by your display so far but I think I have to put off some sympathy towards you right now," Yuta said scoffing.
"Oh boy," Luna said
Yuta vanished
"Where are you Yuta?" Rin asked in horror
"Oh, I am everywhere but nowhere," Yuta answered echoing round the arena but the surprising thing was that the arena was empty like everyone had vanished.
Rin felt something hit his leg, turning down to look at it, he shrieked "A skull".
As Rin turned around, he screamed "More dead bodies everywhere".
They were everywhere, Rin was seemingly in a pool of dead bodies.
The bodies stood up and began moving dragging Rin as if he was in quick sand.
"Help, Help!" Rin screamed
*SNAP*
Yuta holding his sword smiled through the shadows.
"Wind manifestation- Fog slayer" was the simple yet calculated words Yuta said
*CRACK*
"You are really a beast you that now," Rin said looking at Yuta
"I am impressed you held up for his long," Yuta said with a heavy smile
"Yeah, don't flatter yourself," Rin said scoffing
"Thanks for the fight," Yuta said
"Yeah, same," Rin replied
Both individuals collapsed to the floor at the same time leaving the audience in awe
"Who won," a villager screamed
Tino checking on them spoke horrified "A draw!".
