"In the name of Marine Captain Onyx, your rampage ends here, monster!"
"Geppo!"
Captain Onyx, a Marine, shouted angrily at Alux while holding a jitte. He leaped into the air and kicked off the empty air multiple times, attacking from a blind spot Alux couldn't see.
"Shigan: Circle!"
He thrust his 1.2-meter-long jitte forward. The martial arts-based stab was as fast as lightning, flashing through the air with a whoosh. The tip of his jitte was coated in Seastone, a weakness for Devil Fruit users, and would affect him even if he had an artificial Devil Fruit ability.
In an instant, Alux dodged the Seastone jitte's thrust and extended his left hand like a flash of lightning, effortlessly grabbing the rod of the jitte.
"Too slow!"
"What?!"
Onyx's face showed surprise, but his movements didn't slow down. He prepared to kick Alux in the face.
But Alux simply pulled on the jitte's rod. The immense force made Onyx lose his balance, causing him to stumble forward and unable to complete his kick. He could only take a few clumsy steps toward Alux.
"Get out of my way!"
The next second, Alux's expression turned feral. He let out a thundering exhale, clenched his free right hand into a fist, and landed a heavy punch on Onyx's face.
Thump!
Before Onyx could even react, the punch distorted and crushed his facial features as if they were hit with a sledgehammer. His nose and mouth bled, his eyes rolled back, and he was sent flying backward like a cannonball, crossing dozens of meters and crashing into a large warehouse near the dock.
"Captain Onyx!"
The hundreds of Marines around him gasped in unison.
But in an instant, Alux's attack followed, and he slaughtered everyone there like chickens and dogs.
Several CP agents stepped out, using their polished Rokushiki to face the enemy, but they were as useless as paper against Alux.
There were 2,000 Marines stationed at the Hive port, 50 powerful Blugori, several CP agents, and dozens of surviving Forest Wolf Knights, but they couldn't stop Alux's massacre and destruction.
But as the saying goes, "Misfortunes never come alone" and "When it rains, it pours."
"Hahaha! We can finally escape!"
"A ship! I see a ship! I see the ocean!"
"Thank you, Alux!"
"Roar! Roar—"
"..."
As Alux rampaged, many of the escaped test subjects and out-of-control enhanced beasts from the Hive base also arrived at the port, delivering a fatal blow to the Marines.
More than a dozen genetically altered test subjects, all of them monstrous and terrifying, some as humanoid insects, others as humanoid beasts, were far from a match for ordinary Marines.
The out-of-control enhanced beasts were also bloodthirsty and followed the test subjects, wreaking havoc as they rushed into the port.
"Die! Die! You're all going to die!"
Alux charged through the port's buildings like a madman, destroying countless structures.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Suddenly, a warship docked at the pier fired a cannon at the port. Amidst the deafening cannon fire, a cannonball whizzed through the air, heading toward Alux.
The next moment, Alux stopped dead in his tracks and, with one hand, grabbed the fast-flying cannonball. He used the immense kinetic energy of the incoming projectile to spin his body and throw the cannonball back.
Boom!
The cannonball shot back at twice its original speed and hit the warship at the pier, blowing a huge hole in the side of its hull and creating a large explosion of fire, smoke, and a powerful shockwave.
"Hey! Alux, don't destroy the ship!"
A seductive voice rang out, sounding somewhat displeased.
"Hmm?!"
Alux turned his head and saw a beautiful woman on the ruined street. Her glistening black eyes were long and slender like willow leaves, giving her a captivating look. The simple white prison uniform she wore couldn't hide her stunning figure.
But there were several furry black lines on her face. Her body was covered in a black-brown chitinous exoskeleton with fuzzy hair, and there were yellow-brown circular spots. She had two pairs of black-brown spider limbs, each with seven joints, making her look like a monstrous fusion of a spider and a woman.
"You're... Gwen?"
Alux tilted his head, his bloodshot eyes seeming to recognize the spider woman in front of him.
"You're not going crazy too, are you?"
The woman named Gwen saw the wild, bloodthirsty look in Alux's eyes and felt her scalp tingle. She felt like a beast was staring at her and instinctively took a step back.
"Kakakaka! I'm Alux, the strongest of you all!" Alux laughed wildly, waving his arms like a lunatic. He shouted, "I told you to get ready to escape, and I will make it happen! Not even the Marines can stop me!"
"That's a great job. You're living up to your name as the man who will become our captain! Oh, by the way, did you kill Ganshi?" Gwen asked with a sweet smile, her voice laced with hatred.
"Ganshi? Ganshi!"
Alux was stunned for a moment, then his face showed a flash of understanding. He grabbed his head and screamed in agony, "That's right! I need to kill Ganshi! I need to kill Ganshi! Ganshi! I will kill him!"
Rumble!
Moments later, the lunatic Alux suddenly looked up at the large mountain inland, his bloodshot eyes filled with a crimson light. Without hesitation, he charged forward, crashing straight through a three-story building in his path.
"..."
Gwen's face was blank. She watched helplessly as Alux ran like a maniac, leaving the port and returning to the Hive base.
"Hey, Gwen, what's wrong with that guy?"
Suddenly, a humanoid monster who looked like a bee landed from the sky. His transparent wings buzzed rapidly, keeping him a few meters off the ground. He asked with a confused look.
Gwen looked up at him and shook her head helplessly. She sighed. "I thought he was Ganshi's most successful creation. It seems he's a failure too. Maybe we need to choose a new captain, or just escape on our own!"
"Honey, honey~ I was still hoping he'd be our cap—"
Boom!
Before the bee man could finish, a thick bolt of lightning suddenly struck from the sky, sending him crashing into the ground. A charred, smoky hole over two meters in diameter appeared in front of Gwen, so deep she couldn't see the bottom.
"What's happening?"
Gwen's expression changed, and her eyes widened in terror as she looked up.
She saw a black storm cloud and a blazing fireball had appeared in the sky above the port at some point.
The storm cloud had a personified face with a vicious expression, and it released thick bolts of lightning.
The fireball also had a personified face and was grinning viciously as it spat out fireballs.
Standing on top of the black cloud was a young Marine with a sword at his waist. He wore a plain white shirt, a black suit with blue karakusa patterns, and an off-white tie. His Marine coat fluttered in the wind.
"That's... Commodore Cross!"
A Marine recognized him and cried out in surprise.
