David's eyelid twitched. The ten-centimeter-thick tempered glass in front of them now had a deep fist print and a web of dense cracks spreading outwards from it.
"Glass? A Devil Fruit user!"
Alux panted, glaring viciously at David. A milky-white chitinous shell unconsciously appeared on his body, and four transparent, membranous wings, two large and two small, with clearly visible veins sprouted from his back.
His body rapidly grew taller and stronger, swelling from over three meters to more than four meters tall, completely transforming him into an ant-like humanoid monster.
"Let's go!"
David's eyes were serious. He decisively pulled Ganshi out of the main control room.
This test subject was clearly aiming for Ganshi. For the World Government, Ganshi was a top-tier scientist with immense value. He couldn't be in any danger, at least not until the World Government had decided to abandon him.
"Don't think you can escape!"
Alux roared and charged, slamming his head into the glass wall.
Boom!
Alux was like a battering ram. The huge impact shattered the thick glass wall. The strong air pressure propelled countless shards of glass like shotgun pellets, sweeping across the entire control room.
In an instant, all the machines in the room were destroyed by the glass debris. Along with them, a dozen researchers and staff members were either killed or injured, their blood staining the pristine white walls.
Meanwhile, David pulled Ganshi out of the control room and ran down a wide, well-lit corridor. The sight of numerous rooms and intersections along the way made David's scalp crawl.
"If you don't want to die, show me the way!"
"Oh! Go this way!"
Ganshi snapped out of it, pointing to an intersection. He then pulled a Den Den Mushi out of his lab coat pocket and shouted frantically, "Level 1 alert! Level 1 alert!"
"Test Subject 13 has escaped! Activate the highest security protocols immediately!"
"I'm in Sector A, Corridor 4! Send base guards and the rapid response unit to my location right away!"
Weeng! Weeng! Weeng! Weeng!
Immediately, blinding red lights began to flash, and a piercing alarm blared throughout the entire base. A broadcast echoed in every part of the base: "Level 1 alert! Level 1 alert!"
"All stations, Test Subject 13 has escaped!"
"All stations, Test Subject 13 has escaped!"
"Activate the highest security protocols!"
"Activate the highest security protocols!"

Following Ganshi's orders, the guards stationed in the base reacted quickly and began to converge on Ganshi's location.
"GANSHI!!!"
Alux let out a savage, bestial roar, repeatedly screaming Ganshi's name. The huge sound wave was so powerful it was almost physical as it spread through the corridor.
Many guards were nearby. When they saw the milky-white monster, they knew who he was without a doubt. They all instinctively raised their guns and started shooting.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! ... Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The dense gunfire was as loud as popping corn. Sparks flew as countless lead bullets soared out, forming a giant net.
However, in the next second, Alux broke through the net unscathed and began slaughtering the guards who attacked him.
One guard fired his large-caliber blunderbuss at Alux from close range, only to find the lead bullets just bounced off Alux's milky-white chitinous shell, leaving only faint scuff marks. The guard was then slammed into the corridor wall, gun and all, becoming a pile of mangled flesh.
"Aaaahhh!"
"The guns are useless!"
"My sword broke!"
"..."
Screams erupted instantly. Limbs flew, and thick red blood splattered everywhere.
"The rapid response unit has arrived!"
Soon after, a team of reinforcements in blue uniforms, riding on wolves the size of calves, wielding various guns and long blades, arrived.
Pfff!
Before the surviving guards could even celebrate, the rapidly moving Alux suddenly stopped and spit out a mouthful of transparent, viscous formic acid at the rapid response unit of more than twenty people.
Sizzle! Sizzle! Sizzle!—
Aaaah! Aaaah! Aaaah! Aaaah!—
In an instant, seven or eight members of the rapid response unit were hit by the highly corrosive formic acid. Their weapons, blue uniforms, and bodies were quickly corroded and melted, causing them to scream in agony.
Having narrowly escaped, Ganshi and David arrived at the base's main monitoring room. They watched Alux's rampage and destruction through a hundred monitor screens.
His immense strength could easily punch through thick walls, his high speed made him impervious to gunfire, and he could produce a highly corrosive transparent formic acid. Combined with his ability to fly short distances and glide long ones, he was a perfect killing machine. No guard could stop him.
Watching the bloody scenes unfold, David said quietly, "Ganshi-san, the monster you created is amazing. It's truly a sight to behold!"
"This isn't right!"
Ganshi's face was ashen. He growled, "He shouldn't be this strong! Something must have gone wrong!"
"In that case..."
David thought for a moment. "Ganshi-san, the difference between humans and beasts, besides intelligence, is that humans can become stronger through training!"
"If what you say is true, this guy wasn't this strong at first, but through your enhancement experiments and his own secret training, he has developed a strength far beyond your expectations... It's not impossible. Mm, truly an eye-opener!"
"Are you saying the 'weapon' I created played me for a fool?"
Ganshi's expression was vicious and deranged as he roared in fury, "Kill him! Get all the stationed troops moving! Kill him at all costs!"
"David, you're a member of the CP0, a direct agent of the Celestial Dragons. Don't just stand there!"
"Hmm, fine." David scratched his head. "If this place is too badly damaged, the Gorosei will blame me too."

Before David could finish, a Den Den Mushi nearby crackled with a voice full of urgency: "Ganshi-san... can you hear me, Ganshi-san... The out-of-control Ant King is causing massive destruction... so many test subjects have escaped their cells and test areas..."
"Aaaahhh! Y-You're Test Subject 9, the 'Spider Woman' Gwen..."
The line went dead with a final scream.
The main monitoring room fell silent. Everyone watched as more than seventy percent of the hundred screens showed fierce battles and massacres.
One by one, monstrous, powerful creatures had escaped their cages and were wreaking havoc throughout the experimental base inside the mountain.
Researchers, staff members, black-suited guards, and the blue-uniformed rapid response unit were all targets.
"It seems... we've lost control," David said quietly, looking at the silent Ganshi. "Ganshi-san, with things like this, I have to stay here and protect you. Let's have the Marines stationed at the port outside put down the rebellion."
"However, your Ant King Alux is very powerful. I'm afraid Vice Admiral Naitar of the Giant race might not be able to handle him. We'll need to call for reinforcements from the outside."
"It would be best to get Vice Admiral Borsalino from Marine Headquarters to come here. He's a Logia-type Glint-Glint Fruit user, one of the Admiral candidates. He can cross the sea and arrive at the Hive base in the shortest amount of time, then use his overwhelming power to solve all of this and minimize the damage."
