As Liebe got up, Liebe said, "lets go."He took one step, then collapsed and fell into the group. Everyone screamed, "Liebe!" He was taken to the ship. After a few days, Liebe woke up.
After waking up, Licht said, "good morning." Liebe was covered in bandages.
Liebe said, "how long was I unconscious for?"
Licht said, "For seven days. When the doctor saw you, you were so badly messed up he didn't know where to start. Even though you survived, after Alysa ran to you she actually made you feel the pain — basically Alysa was the string that broke the camel's back, or more like your body. Let's just say the doctors were shocked to see you were alive after seeing most of your organs were mashed. The only reason you are alive is simply because your heart was still pumping. Your darkness took over your inner body and forced your organs to work — that's why you're alive. Thank your darkness."
Liebe said, "I didn't know I was in such a bad shape."
Licht said, "I heard the quiet ones get hit the hardest, but how hard did you two fight that it literally damaged your organs?"
Liebe said, "Great question. But why does my chest and legs feel so tight?"
Licht said, "There is another reason for that."
Liebe said, "Umm, what might that be?"
Licht removed Liebe's blanket. Alysa, Gelda, and Eldrie were sleeping on and around him: Alysa on top of Liebe, Gelda hanging on his right leg, and Eldrie holding his other leg.
Liebe said, "And… umm, what is this?"
Licht said, "These three missed you so much that they aren't letting go."
Liebe said, "Now they're like stray cats."
Licht said, "Considering the past week — when you were taking your little beauty nap for 168 hours — you seemed quite uncomfortable with these three holding you, so I tried to get them off of you. Every time I did they literally hissed at me. At one point I had to literally bring cat food for these three."
Liebe said, "Damn, looks like they really became cats."
Licht said, "I'm ok with cats, but these three are literally like strays — and not the good kind. The kind that carry diseases, not to mention they didn't leave to eat, shower, or sleep. At this point I was getting worried. Warner and his sister Mey showed up several times to ask about you — like twenty times. Sometimes Mey would just lay beside you in bed. Warner didn't seem angry, but I'm pretty sure he wants to murder you."
Liebe said, "What did I do for him to murder me?"
Licht said, "Nothing much — just sleep with his baby sister. You guys did so much that she started to talk again, from saying 'oh god'—"
Liebe said, "Damn, was it that bad?"
Licht said, "Why do you go around seducing women, you dumbass?"
Liebe said, "Long story."
Licht said, "Start explaining."
Liebe said, "Can we avoid that?"
Licht said, "But answer me this — what the hell were you fighting that an entire lake vanished from the face of the earth?"
Liebe said, "The supreme devil of the 25th floor, Avaron, at 100% power."
Licht said, "I'm sorry—what?"
Liebe said, "Yeah, I know."
Licht said, "Whenever I take my eyes off you for two seconds you run off fighting supreme evils. Why? Don't you have anything better to do?"
Liebe said, "Bad luck."
Licht said, "Also, our hotel room got upgraded to the first-class suite."
Liebe said, "Well, that must have cost a pretty penny."
Licht said, "Warner paid for it. Also, it was weird."
Liebe said, "Now I'm confused — is he trying to make sure I get a nice room when I die?"
Licht said, "Probably. It was weird to see Mey just come in, lay beside you, cry for a bit, burn stuff with her phoenix flames, and like nothing gets burned and you heal a bit."
Liebe said, "So she came to heal me?"
Licht said, "Kinda."
There was a knock.
Licht said, "Let me check."
Liebe said, "Wait — I'm coming with you." He barely managed to talk because Alysa was on top of him and Eldrie and Gelda were literally clinging to him.
When he opened the door, it was Mey and Warner — except Mey was standing and Warner was kneeling.
Liebe whispered to Licht, "Why is he kneeling?"
Licht whispered, "Maybe he wants to give you a blowjob."
Liebe said, "I will punch you."
Alysa was still on top of Liebe and, half-asleep, said, "Liebe, you smell so good. You smell good enough to eat."
Liebe said, "Why is she like this?"
Licht said, "Damn."
Liebe said to Warner, "Did you want to talk to me?"
Warner said, "Yes, I did."
