Chapter 1 - ⊙﹏⊙

"Hey, guys! Get ready with me to cosplay Sylus from Otome. I think I look horrible today, by the way, but we're gonna fight the morning." Mikayla James sipped from her cup, her voice cheerful as she spoke to her live audience. Detective Riley Blackwell watched intently from her desk, the glow of the screen illuminating her frown.

"Do I have a girlfriend?" Mikayla asked, her tone teasing. "Someone in the comments wants to know if I have a girlfriend. What do you think?" She smirked, brushing concealer onto her face.

"What's my type?" she read aloud, tilting her head thoughtfully. "Hmm, I think uniforms are hot." She smiled coyly, applying blush.

"And my favorite letter?" She chuckled, dabbing at her cheeks. "R. I like the letter R. All my exes had R names. Crazy coincidence, right?" Her laugh was light, but Riley's jaw tightened as she scribbled the note down.

Mikayla leaned closer to the screen, reading another comment. "Do you want to play a game?" She smiled as a virtual gift popped up. "Well, yes, why not? Maybe when I finish my makeup. But I'm kinda busy today, so how about during the evening live? Sound good, Greg?" She winked while applying mascara.

"Do I have a crush on someone famous?" she read, grabbing her straightener to tame the strands of a white wig. "Hmm… not really."

"Okay, guys, let me get dressed and show you the full fit!" she beamed, ending the stream abruptly.

Riley clicked the pause button, her eyes narrowing as she leaned back in her chair.

"So you think this person is the serial killer?" Detective Wayne asked, his tone heavy with skepticism as he crossed his arms.

Riley gritted her teeth, not looking away from the screen. "For now, there's no solid evidence. But two murders with the same MO have occurred in her area, and she's been spotted at the scenes of both crimes. Oddly enough, she was never a witness or listed in any reports."

"Ever think it's just a coincidence?" Wayne raised an unimpressed brow.

"There's no such thing as coincidence in crime," Riley muttered, her finger drumming on the desk.
