Chapter 5578: Abduction (Part 1)
The beautiful woman was clearly indignant, glaring angrily at Mei Ye and the others. "Since you're running a business, why do people have to queue and wait? Shouldn't everyone get a turn?"
"Oh, I know! It's because your resources are incredibly scarce. You don't even know if you'll have enough to sell tomorrow! So you're intentionally playing these tricks, stringing along us Holy Domain folks, aren't you?"
Mei Ye, unperturbed by her provocations, just chuckled and nodded repeatedly. "Yes, yes, you're the smartest; you've figured it all out."
"Now, can you get lost?"
The woman was absolutely furious. Clearly, with her striking beauty, she had never suffered such humiliation anywhere before. She stomped her foot in exasperation, pointing at Mei Ye and seething, "You! You'll regret this!"
By this time, Holy Domain First Tower had already opened. Many people were moving forward with the flow of the crowd. The woman was blocking the way for quite a few people behind her, and some were already impatiently shouting, "Move it, what's with all the talk? You didn't bother to come early and queue, and now you want to grab a ready spot? What good fantasy are you dreaming of?"
"Exactly, get lost already, don't block others' way and hinder their shopping."
The beautiful woman was seething, but her single voice couldn't contend with many. She finally stomped her foot hard on the ground and reluctantly left.
After she exited the crowd, her proud and arrogant expression subtly softened. She turned and ran for about a few minutes into the vast white mist ahead.
A burly man with a missing left arm was waiting for her there. Seeing the woman, he grinned, "Lan'er, how was it? Does that building have a lot of stuff?"
"Let's talk about it when we get back," she pulled the one-armed man along, and they departed together.
The Holy Domain was surrounded by white mist, and everyone navigated almost entirely by the signposts that appeared every three li (approximately every mile). They quickly returned to their own territory.
A kind-faced, white-haired old man had been waiting there for a long time. Seeing Li Lan'er, he smiled and nodded. "How did it go?"
"I couldn't get in."
"That place is very strict; you can't even enter to look without queuing," Li Lan'er reported with clasped hands. "Venerable One, but I believe there should be quite a lot of things."
"There were at least a hundred people queuing at the entrance."
"They've been operating for several days now, letting in over a hundred people each time and selling so much stuff. It's clear that these people have more resources than just that."
"Yes," the one-armed man, Ma Wei, echoed, turning to the silent man. "Gouzi has strategies, he knows best how to seek advantages and avoid harm, how to prioritize. Why doesn't Gouzi speak?"
Zhao Gouzi raised his gloomy eyes, squatted on the ground, and took a deep breath. "Haven't you noticed that there's been no activity at their bamboo building for several days?"
A brief silence fell upon the group.
"After my secret investigation, this family must have laid down very powerful talisman arrays in their courtyard."
The one-armed man suddenly understood. "So that's it. No wonder they only went in but never came out. So these young people, who just ascended to the Holy Domain, are so ruthless and vicious; you really can't tell from their appearance."
"What do you know?" Zhao Gouzi sneered sinisterly. "The more outwardly glamorous people are, the darker their hearts might be."
The white-haired Venerable Mulberry frowned. "So what do we do? Do we just let it go?"
