Chapter 66 - Liar?

The sales staff in the real estate office were all stunned when they heard Brentley declare, "I'll buy that villa."

While they were well aware that anyone coming here to buy a villa was usually wealthy, they had never encountered someone as decisive and affluent as Brentley. He hadn't even asked about the price, the size, or any potential discounts. Just one sentence, "I'll buy that villa," exuded an overwhelming sense of authority.

Among all the salespeople present, only Caroline's expression remained relatively normal. She was the only one who truly understood the kind of person Brentley was.

"Sir, are you sure you want to buy this villa? Don't you need to think it over?" Jessica stammered, thoroughly shaken by Brentley's decisiveness.

Encountering such a straightforward client was something every salesperson dreamed about, but now that such a client was standing right in front of her, Jessica found it hard to process.

"It's just a villa. What's there to think about?" Brentley glanced at Jessica, his tone so calm it felt almost surreal.

"No, what I mean is, sir, do you know the actual price of this villa? Are you sure you want to make the decision right now?" Jessica asked nervously, her voice trembling.

"Jessica Rivera, what are you implying? Are you worried that he can't afford this villa?" Caroline scoffed at Jessica, then continued, "Just a few days ago, Mr. Carter bought another villa at my sales office without asking about the price, he's different from other wealthy people. The money for this villa is nothing to him."

"But..." Jessica opened her mouth to speak, still finding it hard to believe that Brentley had so readily decided to buy the villa. It all seemed a bit unreal.

"But—" she began.

"No buts! Since he said he wants to buy the villa, he means it. Why are you still standing here? Go and prepare the contract for him!" Caroline, feeling triumphant, shouted at Jessica with her big, sparkling eyes.

Although Caroline would get the majority of the commission if Brentley really bought the villa, as the sales manager, Jessica would also benefit greatly. Thus, she dared not delay any longer. Excitedly, she turned to Brentley and said, "Mr. Carter, please wait a moment. I'll go prepare the contract right away!"

"Mm," Brentley responded with a slight nod, not even sparing Jessica a glance.

Caroline's eyes practically sparkled with sweetness as she looked at Brentley. If it weren't for his appearance, she would never have seen Jessica so flustered. Caroline was already planning her evening, determined to seize this rare opportunity to catch the attention of such a wealthy heir.

After speaking with Brentley, Jessica hurried upstairs to prepare the contract. Typically, buyers would pay a deposit first and then settle the balance in a few days. However, seeing that Brentley had no intention of paying a deposit, Jessica assumed he planned to pay the full amount upfront. She and the other sales staff scrambled to get everything ready, not wanting to miss this golden opportunity.

Meanwhile, the other salesgirls also changed their attitudes towards Brentley, offering him tea and casting flirtatious glances his way. However, they were aware of Caroline's interest in him, so they kept their interactions precise and respectful.

At first, everyone speculated that Caroline might have been deceived by Brentley, leading her to mistakenly believe he was a wealthy heir. However, when they saw Brentley generously purchase a villa, they began to secretly envy Caroline's good fortune.

Caroline, on the other hand, was thoroughly enjoying the moment.

A few minutes later, Jessica hurried over to Brentley with several house purchase contracts in hand. She spoke softly to him, "Mr. Carter, the contracts are ready. How would you like to pay for the house?"

"With a card," Brentley replied nonchalantly.

"Alright, alright..." Jessica nodded gently, then bent slightly, gesturing politely for Brentley to follow her. She smiled and said, "Mr. Carter, please come this way to make the payment."

"Okay," Brentley agreed, standing up and following Jessica, Caroline and the others towards the sales office's finance department.

The other sales associates in the office, curious about the situation, also trailed behind Brentley and the group.

At that moment, Brentley felt like an emperor surrounded by countless concubines. It was a feeling of immense satisfaction. If he had not inherited Gerald Brown's multi-trillion-dollar fortune, he might never have had the chance to experience such a sensation in his lifetime.

"Mr. Carter, please have a seat," Jessica said proactively, bringing over a chair for Brentley.

Brentley, without hesitation, sat down in the chair.

"Mr. Carter, the villa you were interested in is priced at seven million three hundred sixty five thousand dollars. Are you planning to pay by card?" The finance lady, asked nervously, glancing at Brentley.

"Yes, by card," Brentley nodded lightly and reached into his pocket, intending to pull out his black card from the Bank of Huaxia .

However, as Brentley's hand entered his pocket, a look of helplessness crossed his face. He suddenly remembered that he had changed pants last night, and his bank card was in the other pair. In other words, he hadn't brought his card with him.

"Mr. Carter, you can swipe your card now," Jessica gently reminded him when she noticed he hadn't moved.

Brentley turned to look at Jessica and said softly, "Well, can I come back tomorrow to make the payment? Could you hold the villa for me today?"

Everyone was stunned by Brentley's words, and they all looked at him with puzzled expressions. Even Caroline's beautiful eyes showed a hint of confusion.

"Mr. Carter, why do you need to come back tomorrow to pay?" Jessica asked, bewildered. "Because I forgot to bring my bank card today," Brentley replied calmly.

Jessica and the other sales ladies present turned pale upon hearing this. They all looked at Brentley as if he were a con artist.
