Back at the office, Melody stood up to greet me. But when she saw Grace behind me, her expression immediately darkened.
I ignored her and walked past her with Grace, chatting and laughing.
"William, come here!"
Melody's expression was gloomy.
I stopped, said goodbye to Grace, and walked up to Melody. "What's the matter?"
My tone was very indifferent.
"Why are you with Grace?"
"Oh, she's the project assistant, and we went to Wallace Company together."
Melody frowned. "Why didn't you reply to my messages?"
As she said this, she lowered her voice.
"I've been busy, so I didn't check my phone."
Of course, that was just an excuse. Even if I was busy, I could still find time to reply to messages.
She took a deep breath, anger flashing in her eyes. "Is that your explanation?"
