Chapter 112 - 112

Makarov was lectured by the new council and released.

After looking at the newly built guild building and the supporting facilities inside, Makarov excitedly patted Caesar on the shoulder. He expressed his appreciation for a job well done.

Then, a few days later, the second floor of Caesar's house collapsed.

There was no way. For his own comfort, Caesar decorated the second floor too well. This also led to Makarov rarely sitting at the counter anymore. He went to the second floor to enjoy himself every day.

This made others jealous too.

So Makarov opened the second floor to everyone. But they had to forget about the S-class commissions.

Caesar had some complaints, but they were ignored.

On the other hand, things concerning Lucy developed just like in the original story.

Phantom Lord was defeated, and information about the commission was revealed.

When Lucy found out it was because of her, she left a letter and returned home.

After a quarrel with Jude, the father and daughter broke up.

Caesar was not surprised.

The business of the Heartfilia family had been declining year by year. At first, Jude wanted to use Caesar's medicine to stabilize the company. But his hopes were crushed.

Later, he wanted Lucy to marry someone and use the funds from another family to revive the business. But he didn't expect to break with her because of this.

"It's fine," Caesar thought. "Now Jude can see things clearly. After he figures it out, he can make a comeback."

Caesar smiled as he looked at Lucy.

At this moment, there was no gloom in her smile. Their small team had accepted a mission and already set off.

Caesar sat on the sofa, took a sip of wine, then turned to Makarov.

"Master, I found something underground when I was building the guild."

"Pfft! Cough, cough!"

Hearing this, Makarov nearly spit his wine.

After a violent cough, he set his glass down and looked at Caesar.

"You're not surprised?"

"It's fine. I was surprised before, but now I've let it go." Caesar said calmly.

Makarov was shocked.

That was infinite magic power. The one thing Caesar always sought.

Yet he looked completely calm.

"You've grown up," Makarov said with a warm smile. Then he stood. "Come with me."

Caesar nodded and followed him down to the underground.

They stopped in a corridor between the basement and second floor.

Caesar pressed a loose stone and injected magic into it.

A click sounded. The wall slid open, revealing a hidden chamber.

The door closed behind them as magic lamps lit the dark space.

In the center stood a huge lavender crystal. Inside, a fairy-like girl slept quietly.

"Caesar, this is the ultimate weapon of Fairy Tail," Makarov said. "Luminous Starlight, also called the Myth of Light. Only guild masters can enter this place."

"Master, what you mean is…" Caesar's eyes brightened.

"That's right," Makarov said seriously. "I brought you here because I'm abdicating. From today, you are the fourth master of Fairy Tail."

Caesar nodded solemnly. His robe shimmered, and the words 'Fourth Generation' glowed behind him.

Makarov stared, a little stunned.

He realized Caesar had already prepared for this moment.

He sighed softly. "I really am getting old."

He patted Caesar's shoulder and turned to leave.

But Caesar stopped him.

"Master, you forgot something." Caesar grinned. "This time, it wasn't you who brought me in. I brought you in."

"Wait—what do you mean?!" Makarov's heart sank.

Caesar coughed lightly. "Makarov Dole. I, Caesar, as the fourth generation guild master, bring you in here. You are now the fifth generation guild master of Fairy Tail."

Makarov froze.

Then his leg shot up and kicked Caesar's backside.

"You brat! Are you making a rift of me?!"

"Hehe," Caesar said innocently. "Master, I'm still new at this. You'll handle the main matters, and I'll follow you to learn. After two or three years, I'll take over. Deal?"

Makarov's temples throbbed.

But what could he do?

Laxus was too reckless. Gildarts was never around. Mira was too kind. Erza was too rigid.

Compared to them, Caesar really was the best choice.

He sighed deeply. "Why is retiring so hard?"

They returned to the hall.

In front of everyone, Makarov announced that Caesar would be the fourth-generation guild master.

The guild cheered loudly.

Caesar's prestige in Fairy Tail was high, and no one objected.

But then they noticed something odd.

Caesar and Makarov didn't leave.

Caesar used his authority to appoint Makarov as the fifth-generation master. Then he declared himself retired.

Everyone was stunned.

Okay… so that's how it's going to be?
