The cage closest to them began to rattle.
Azel turned his head just in time to see movement inside it.
The pale human within pressed both palms and feet against the floor and crawled out like an insect, spine bending at unnatural angles as it dragged itself forward… Azel couldn't tell if it was a man or woman, that was how bad it looked.
When the creature's head finally pushed past the bars, its neck cracked, twisting sideways in an inhuman angle and staring directly at them.
'I see,' Azel thought quietly.
He now understood why there were no gang members guarding the inner part of the lab.
There was no need for guards when the test subjects themselves were turned into monsters.
The creature stood up with it's body trembling.
Its bones creaked as it took a step, and then another.
Its dull gray eyes locked directly on Ravik. With a shrill gasp, the thing ran… each step pounding against the ground and it's bones snapped but it never stopped running.
