Uriel stayed quiet for what felt like ages.
The bedroom grew uncomfortably silent, yet Uriel kept his lips sealed.
“I heard… the condition he set is quite rare. Her Majesty will be recognized as the direct and sole ruler of Rajan if the current king passes away,” Adrianne said, each of her words piercing Uriel’s heart like daggers.
It stung, but he couldn’t say it was entirely unexpected. Cedric had always been open about his feelings from the start.

Uriel had been through so much with Apollonia to finally return to the palace. Even though his body hadn’t fully recovered, he cherished the happiness of falling asleep every night beside the person he loved.
