The Grand Duchess had no time to decline the offer or ponder over it. Before she knew it, she was placed where Petra put her—half a step in front of Petra. Inwardly, she consoled her heart. She knew that Petra wasn’t lying when she said that there would be no danger. Having been the grand duchess for over a decade, she had come to watch this hunting contest before. The hill where the stands were located was a safe zone that was said to be protected by god. No monster could approach this place.
Eventually, she responded, “…I understand.”
Before the audience could fully comprehend the situation, Petra opened the box and poured the monster-attracting perfume over herself and the grand duchess. The amount they applied was far beyond what anyone would usually use, and an intense smell started spreading out from them.
