“I can’t even call it a wound. It’s just bruises,” Luana responded honestly before reaching for the cake placed in front of her. Despite her initial wariness towards the woman who had incapacitated Lathea and Ronald, her hunger took priority.
Luana loved cake, and there was an assortment of fruit tarts—strawberry, grape, and fig flavors—and the moist chocolate cake on the table were all her favorites. She indulged in the delectable treats without uttering a word for a while.
However, as she continued eating, her curiosity about the woman sitting in front of her grew.
“Bartan has been taken care of,” the woman said before she could ask.
“Huh?”
“It’s no longer something that concerns you, but I thought you might be curious. Lathea’s Heaven has been dealt with, and there will be no more human trafficking,” the woman explained, her tone gentle yet chilling.
