Chapter 48: Another Member of Imperial Descent (1)
Apollonia and Uriel settled into the carriage as they departed from the count’s mansion. Apollonia had managed to slip away from the palace, using her position as a princess as an excuse to visit the temple. She had temporarily eluded the escorts—well, more like prying eyes—assigned to her by the emperor.
“Is it okay to give him such a large amount of money based on words alone?”
“Absolutely not, if it was anyone else, that is. However, Count Aether is okay. He never betrays trust when it comes to business. I’m sure I’ll get a signed contract delivered to me tomorrow.”
“How did to know everything you mentioned earlier?” Uriel asked, turning his head towards Apollonia after looking outside the carriage in wariness out of habit.
The Apollonia he saw at the count’s mansion had been an eye-opener for Uriel. He couldn’t help but wonder—just how much knowledge was crammed into that petite head of hers?
