Chapter 195: Those Still Remaining (7)
Uriel’s silver hair glistened under the flickering light, and his captivating blue eyes took on a gentle curve as he smiled, attempting to reassure Apollonia.
However, Apollonia felt as if all the strength had drained from her body.
“You’ll live on. Even without me around,” he assured her while placing a tender kiss on her forehead.
His torch-wielding hand, still shackled, trembled slightly.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you until the end.”
“No!” Apollonia cried out.
She continued to struggle to free herself from the tightly bound ropes, but they refused to give way.
Uriel firmly grasped her trembling shoulders and locked his gaze onto hers.
With eyes as deep as an unfathomable sea, Uriel gazed at her, as if etching every detail of Apollonia into his memory.
“Farewell.”
Uriel kissed her slowly, and it was devoid of sweetness or ecstasy.
