Eitan stared, a little shocked at her blatant rebuke. "It's breakfast to me." He answered simply, taking a fleeting glance at his phone.
"Can I just take orange juice then? It can be breakfast too, right?" Ava asked.
Eitan frowned. "No, you can't. You need to eat something to fill your stomach."
"But you're taking just coffee." She protested. "Why do I have to eat something and you don't?"
'I'm not even that hungry...'
Eitan's brow twitched. "Because coffee fills me up just fine."
"But it's just liquid. How does liquid fill the stomach?" Ava countered, her arms folding across her chest. "Why don't you try eating pancakes too?"
Eitan almost let out a sigh. "If I take coffee and eat pancakes, will you stop asking me questions?"
Ava stiffened, then she lowered her head. "Sorry…"
Eitan flinched and his eyebrows furrowed. "I didn't mean it like–"
Before he could finish, the waiter from before returned with their order as he set the steel tray on the table.
