Eitan had seen everything as if in slow motion before his brain could fully process it. He swerved his car swiftly and it came to a screeching halt just meters away from where Ava's prone form lay.
He saw a woman with short black hair who looked to be in her mid-twenties hovering over her with tears running down her cheeks. She couldn't stop screaming Ava's name… it didn't seem like she wanted to either.
Eitan didn't move for several seconds, his eyes remained fixed on Ava's unconscious body. One of her legs was bent the wrong way, her light blonde hair splayed on the concrete at different angles and crimson liquid pooled at the base of her head.
There was a phone lying just a few meters away from her with the screen cracked and bloodied.
Eitan rested his forehead on the steering wheel, clenching it tightly untill his knuckles turned white. 'I should have told her I was coming…'
