----------------------------------------------------------
Early the next morning, Shirou Emiya and his group departed toward the Dwarf Kingdom while riding Tempest Wolves, with Gobta leading the way.
Among the entire goblin village, Gobta was the only one who had ever been to the Dwarf Kingdom before. Naturally, he became their guide.
With the Tempest Wolves' speed, the journey that normally took much longer was completed in just three days. Shirou Emiya and his party arrived at the Dwarf Kingdom, Dwargon, without incident.
For this trip, Rimuru and Shirou Emiya had deliberately brought only four companions.
Besides Gobta, who acted as their guide, there was Rigur and two other Hobgoblins.
The six of them rode swiftly across the land atop the Tempest Wolves.
"At this point, the rest of the journey will be handled by Shirou, Gobta, and me," Rimuru declared. "Too many people would stand out too much."
Hearing Rimuru's decision, Ranga, the leader of the Tempest Wolves, and Rigur both showed concern.
But in the end, they still obeyed Rimuru's orders.
Thus, Shirou Emiya and the remaining two left the others concealed within the forest and headed straight toward Dwargon.
Not long after, Shirou Emiya arrived at the gates of Dwargon with Rimuru perched on his shoulder and Gobta at his side.
Before them stretched a long line that extended far into the distance.
These were all people waiting to enter Dwargon City.
Among them were human adventurers, as well as monsters of various races.
Just a glance was enough to reveal an atmosphere filled with an otherworldly mix.
"So many demi-humans..." Rimuru muttered. "I wonder if I'll get to see beautiful elf sisters in the Dwarf Kingdom."
Hearing the quiet muttering beside him, Shirou Emiya's lips curved slightly.
"Oh? Rimuru, are you that interested in elf sisters?"
"Of course!" Rimuru answered without hesitation. "That's a man's ultimate fantasy! I super love elf sisters. By the way, Shirou, have you met any elf sisters in other worlds?"
"Elf sisters, huh..."
At Rimuru's question, images surfaced naturally in Shirou Emiya's mind.
Riveldia's appearance came first.
Then Lefiya's face followed.
After that, several other familiar elven figures surfaced one after another, all of them beautiful women he had known.
"You could say I've met quite a few."
"And if we're talking about the most beautiful," Shirou Emiya continued calmly, "it would still be my master, the Elven Royal, Riveldia."
"Elven Royal!?"
Rimuru's eyes nearly popped out of his head.
From his expression alone, Shirou Emiya could clearly sense the deep envy.
"And then?" Rimuru pressed.
"Then what?"
"You didn't make a move?" Rimuru asked suspiciously. "You didn't... conquer her?"
"Don't say it like that," Shirou Emiya replied flatly. "I still have great respect for my master."
As soon as he finished speaking, he felt a strong, lingering gaze coming from his shoulder.
Clearly, Rimuru did not believe him in the slightest.
"Alright," Shirou Emiya added after a pause. "I still need more practice."
"That's more like it," Rimuru said with satisfaction. "Don't think you can hide something like that from my sharp eyes."
"Yes, yes."
Shirou Emiya responded helplessly and continued following the line as it slowly moved forward.
"Hey, look over there. There's a weak monster."
"How about we deal with it before entering the city?"
"That sounds good to me."
"Eh?"
Hearing voices from behind, Shirou Emiya slowly turned around.
As expected, he saw Gobta being surrounded by five human adventurers.
"Hey, kid," one of the adventurers said after noticing Shirou Emiya's gaze. "This has nothing to do with you. Don't go sticking your nose where it doesn't belong, or you'll get yourself into trouble."
"Get into trouble?" Shirou Emiya replied calmly. "You're the ones who started trouble with us."
He kicked the panicking Gobta lightly in the rear and spoke without hesitation.
"Gobta. Defeat all five of them."
"Eh!? No way!" Gobta shouted. "First of all, I don't even have a weapon! And there are five of them, Master!"
"Who said you don't have a weapon?"
Shirou Emiya extended his hand.
A fiery red long spear materialized instantly and was thrust into the ground in front of Gobta.
"Use the spear techniques I taught you," Shirou Emiya said seriously. "If you don't defeat them, your training will increase tenfold when we get back."
"Tenfold!?"
A terrifying surge of willpower burst from Gobta's eyes.
Just the afternoon before they departed, Gobta had experienced firsthand what true devil training was.
Setting aside the beatings he endured while learning spear techniques, the suffering itself had been burned deeply into his memory.
Even during the three days of travel, Shirou Emiya had not eased up on him.
Now, upon hearing the words "tenfold training," something inside Gobta snapped.
He charged straight at the five adventurers, gripping the long spear and attacking without restraint.
Even though there was a mage among them, Gobta's movements were too fast and too clean for their spells to land.
"You really picked the right one, Shirou," Rimuru said while watching. "Gobta really does have the most potential."
Seeing Gobta's current fluid and agile movements, Rimuru nodded in satisfaction.
"Of course," Shirou Emiya replied. "Anyone who becomes my disciple can't lack potential."
Shirou Emiya was equally satisfied.
Gobta had been able to grasp the spear techniques just by watching once, which was precisely why Shirou Emiya had taken him in as a disciple.
Now, seeing him maneuver calmly within a group of five adventurers, Shirou Emiya nodded again.
This was a child worth teaching.
Before long, Gobta finished dealing with all five adventurers and ran back.
"Master! Lord Rimuru!" Gobta reported eagerly. "I knocked them all out and threw them into the jungle!"
"Hm. Well done," Rimuru said.
Hearing the praise, Gobta's face immediately lit up.
Then he turned his gaze toward Shirou Emiya, waiting expectantly for his master's evaluation.
"Not bad," Shirou Emiya said. "It looks like your training will need to be intensified once we return. That way, you can become even better."
"Eh? Intensified again...?"
Gobta's expression instantly turned bitter.
Following the crowd, Shirou Emiya entered the Dwarf Kingdom of Dwargon together with Rimuru and Gobta.
Inside, the city was lively and bustling.
The three of them walked around at a relaxed pace, taking everything in.
"Ah," Rimuru sighed. "When will our city become like this?"
"When did we even have a city?" Shirou Emiya asked.
"Isn't that just a matter of time?"
"It's not that simple."
The two of them chatted back and forth as they wandered through the streets.
But soon enough, they discovered a very serious problem.
They had no money.
"This is awkward," Rimuru muttered. "Not having money is really inconvenient."
"I do have gold," Shirou Emiya said. "But I can't just use it directly. That would make us look like blatant nouveau riche."
Shirou Emiya was carrying a large amount of gold that Luvia had prepared for him.
After all, the currency in each world he transmigrated to was different. But gold, in most cases, was universally accepted.
Just to be safe, he had brought plenty with him.
"Then let's go to the exchange office first," Rimuru suggested. "Even though we have healing potions to sell, we don't understand the local market. It's better to take things slow."
"Agreed. Let's go."
With directions from passersby, Shirou Emiya quickly found the exchange office and exchanged some of his gold for local currency.
"So where do we go next?" Rimuru asked. "Do we start looking for people willing to come to our territory?"
"No."
Shirou Emiya rejected the idea immediately.
"I heard there's a very famous blacksmith in the Dwarf Kingdom," he said. "His name is Kaijin. I'm interested in him."
"Let's go to his shop first and take a look."
