The next morning, Uathach rubbed her sleepy eyes and got up.
Asher had woken up early and was currently leaning against the wall, his gaze towards Uathach, and chuckled, "Sister, you sleep too soundly. You slept right until morning."
Artoria, meanwhile, sat quietly to the side, not making a sound.
She felt a little guilty now.
After all, Uathach had been sleeping in the room last night, and she had done that to Asher while Uathach was asleep. Even if the other party didn't know the truth, she still felt guilty now.
"I didn't sleep well at all yesterday," Uathach suddenly mumbled.
Artoria's ahoge perked up slightly, and Asher's heart skipped a beat. He forced himself to remain calm and asked, "Did something happen last night?"
"Actually, I woke up once in the middle of the night yesterday. I think I heard some strange sounds," Uathach sat on the bed, seemingly still in start-up mode, her face full of sleepiness.
Asher said a little nervously, "What strange sounds?"
"I don't know either," Uathach shook her head. "I was too sleepy last night, so I was too lazy to get up and just lay down and continued sleeping. I thought it shouldn't matter since you guys were there."
"Anyway, if anything happens, you'll protect me, Ash, right?" Uathach looked at Asher with a beaming smile.
Asher nodded seriously, "Of course. If anything happened to you, Shishou would kill me, wouldn't she?"
"That last sentence was redundant!" Uathach wagged her finger, sighing with a 'tsk tsk'. "You shouldn't mention Mom at this point. That's how you gain your sister's affection."
"What's the use of gaining affection..." Asher mumbled.
"What did you say?" Uathach's ears were sharp; she immediately heard Asher's mumble.
"No, nothing," Asher quickly shook his head.
Sister's hearing is so good, did she really sleep like a log last night?
Asher couldn't help but wonder.
Uathach was still muttering things like "Honestly," and "I can't do anything with you," when she suddenly felt Artoria's gaze. She turned and asked in confusion, "Lily, is something wrong?"
"No, nothing..." Artoria shook her head.
"Are you really sure? If you have any worries, you can discuss them with me," Uathach said caringly.
"No, really, nothing's wrong..." Artoria shook her head again.
It's not like she could just ask Uathach: Would you mind if I screwed Ash?
Artoria believed she wasn't so bold as to ask such a question in front of Uathach.
"By the way, where did you go in the middle of the night yesterday?" Uathach suddenly asked.
Artoria was startled. "Why do you ask?"
Uathach looked at Artoria's arm and said, "Didn't I sleep holding your arm last night? But in the middle of the night, I vaguely felt like you weren't in bed. Did you go somewhere else later?"
"..."
"Lily?" Uathach called out again, looking at the slightly stiff-faced Artoria.
Asher glanced left and right, his heart tightening.
Not good... Lily is completely bad at lying. If she's pressed like this, she'll definitely be exposed.
Uathach's true personality only showed in front of familiar people. Although she usually seemed a bit blank, she was actually super shrewd. Asher knew this well.
He had to quickly change the subject.
"Sister, we should probably set off soon. We've been
delayed here for a night; if we drag it out further, something might happen," Asher said.
That was true. The Druid had been injured and fled yesterday. He didn't know if he went back to King Marco or escaped somewhere else.
If King Marco already knew about their arrival, he might become even more vigilant.
If so, the difficulty of the investigation would also increase.
Uathach nodded upon hearing this. "Mhm, you're right. Let's go quickly then."
Saying this, she took the lead and walked out of the hut, her steps uneven as she headed towards the forest where the horses were tethered.
"Thank you," Artoria said.
"It's nothing... this matter was originally related to me," Asher said, shaking his head.
"But if I hadn't made a move on you last night, it wouldn't have become so troublesome," Artoria said.
However, just as she said this, she felt a light tap on her head. She turned around and saw Asher smiling as he withdrew his hand, saying:
"If I could resist the temptation, none of the subsequent things would have happened. This isn't just your problem alone."
Artoria was stunned for a moment.
"Let's go first," Asher said. "Sister is still waiting for us outside."
It wasn't until Asher walked out of the room that she recovered, looking at Uathach waving at her at the doorway, and Asher standing beside her, a slight curve appearing on her lips.
This was the first time in her life she felt happy.
The happiness of being acknowledged.
At least Asher's actions basically meant he recognized
her charm, and... finally, it wasn't her initiative, but Asher's for once.
How wonderful...
Artoria stepped out of the room.
After leaving the village, Uathach, following yesterday's method, sat on the horse behind Asher. However, this time, Artoria didn't feel as sour as she did yesterday.
Everything that needed to be kissed and touched had been done. All she had to do was wait for this elf situation to be investigated, then find an opportunity to imitate the Royal Sister's previous method of locking up Ash and 'eating' him.
Asher's reaction last night gave Artoria a lot of confidence, confidence in her own charm.
She wasn't lacking in charm; Asher was just too timid.
Just give him a little courage, and he'll definitely take the bait.
"Doesn't that person ahead look a bit familiar?" After the three continued their journey for a while, Asher suddenly pulled on the reins, slowing the horse slightly, his gaze fixed on the figure ahead.
Artoria also followed Asher's gaze. Ahead, a man rode a swift horse towards them, his purple hair gently swaying in the wind. Soon, his face clearly came into view.
Lancelot.
Lancelot had clearly spotted Asher and the others. He looked them over curiously for a few moments but didn't stop, instead urging his horse to gallop towards Camelot.
"Lancelot!" Asher called out, turning his head.
Lancelot was startled. He pulled the reins to the left and quickly came before Asher, still looking at him with a puzzled expression.
"Who are you?"
Because of the illusion Skadi had cast earlier, Asher looked like a stranger, and Lancelot naturally didn't recognize him.
"He is King Arthur."
After Artoria spoke, seeing Lancelot still looking confused, she took out her medal to prove her identity.
Then, she gave a brief explanation.
"So it was King Arthur. My apologies for my rudeness just now," Lancelot bowed his head in apology.
"No, it's fine. I actually wanted to ask you, weren't you tracking the elf? Why the hurried return? Did something happen there?" Asher asked.
"I was just about to return and report to you. This is perfect," Lancelot said with a solemn expression. "King Marco is secretly recruiting troops. In the past few days, a lot of weapons and provisions have been transported into the city, and that elf is also in the city."
Why would he secretly recruit troops for no reason? King Marco's actions were already too obvious.
But why was King Marco making such a big show of it?
Asher couldn't help but wonder.
King Marco was making such a big fuss. Wasn't he afraid that they would find out in advance and prepare?
"However, the good news is, judging from the progress there, it will take at least a week or more to complete the transportation," Lancelot continued.
"King Arthur," Artoria turned to Asher, her face grave.
Asher snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Lancelot, saying, "Sir Lancelot, I need your help with
something."
"I will do my utmost," Lancelot said.
"I'd like to ask you to invite the kings of other territories," Asher said. "Considering the kings' travel progress, let's schedule a meeting in Camelot Castle in three days."
"This needs to be done secretly... Although I say that, I imagine the other party, having made such a big move, must have been on guard against us for a long time. Perhaps King Marco was aware of your entry into his territory very early on."
"First, go inform King Odgerin. His daughter is in Camelot, so I imagine he would be willing to send people to notify the other kings," Asher continued.
"I understand," Lancelot nodded. "I'll handle this matter."
"I'll go help too," Artoria suddenly said. "With Stallion's speed, we'll reach King Odgerin quickly."
Her white horse neighed, raising its proud head, seemingly happy about its Shishou's approval.
Asher hesitated for a moment, but then nodded. "Alright, it's good for you two to have each other. Then I'll trouble you."
Artoria nodded, mounted her horse, and galloped off in another direction with Lancelot.
"Ash, they're all gone, what are you still looking at?"
Uathach raised her slender fingers and waved them in front of Asher's eyes. "If you didn't want her to go, you should have just said so directly."
Asher snapped out of his thoughts and shook his head.
"Let's go back first."
He knew Lily was a very stubborn person. She definitely wanted to separate emotions from serious matters. If he refused her now without a good reason, even if Lily didn't say anything on the surface, she would definitely sulk alone.
Rather than that, it was better to openly let her go and
help.
He just didn't know why, Asher always felt that something was off, but he couldn't pinpoint the exact reason. There was just an unexplainable sense of disharmony.
