Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4: Lei Shi Vs Lollipop

In a blink, the distance between them was closed, and their blades met in midair.

BANG

The collision of their blades was a violent explosion of scorching heat and bone-chilling cold, which released an orange and blue radiance.

This clash was the drawing of the curtains to an epic battle.

Their blades danced through the air and clashed repeatedly, constantly releasing sparks due to the force put in by their wielders.

Leng Shi's suit released cold gases that instantly froze the air around him. Ice crystals and snowflakes formed due to the freezing of the atmospheric water vapor.

Huo Feng's suit, on the other hand, released terrifying heat that seemed to ignite the air, and vaporized the ice crystals and snowflakes formed by Leng Shi.

But upon closer inspection, Leng Shi was clearly at a disadvantage, both in terms of influencing the surrounding's temperature, and in terms of strength. This was due to the difference in the Ranks of their HTB Suits.

High Tech Body (HTB) Suits were graded according to ranks from Rank 1, the weakest, to Rank 10, the strongest, with the provision and quality of strength, speed, battle gear options and accessories and so on, getting greater with every increase in Rank. So, Leng Shi with a Rank 2 HTB suit, fighting Huo Feng, a Rank 3 HTB suit wielder, will naturally cause him to be at a disadvantage, but this didn't diminish his will in the slightest; rather it caused him to fight with more vigor.

Meanwhile, Lei Shi who was standing at a distance taunted in a loud voice "Don't think I'm scared of you! Leng Shi, wash his neck and wait for my knife!" he was afraid Huo Feng would take his refusal to fight as him being scared.

After screaming, Lei Shi calmed down so as to enjoy watching the fight. But suddenly, he heard an explosion, and looking towards the crash site of Poland, he saw Poland arch into the sky and crash towards him like a meteor, with half of his HTB suit now destroyed from his right arm to his right breast, exposing his body that was bleeding.

Seeing the rapidly descending Poland, Lei Shi powered his HTB suit to the max, that his body began crackling with yellow electricity. He then pulled out from his back, a Black and Yellow saber that was of similar design to Leng Shi's, and with it in his left-hand, he jumped into the sky to intercept Poland.

From a distance, their collision looked like a rainbow-colored spiked-headed Giant-mace-wielding Primal smashing a Yellow Thunder Bolt.

BOOM

The clash was earth shattering and the explosion colossal.

The result of the collision was the reflection of the Thunder Bolt back to the ground with just as much speed as it had ascended with.

Lei Shi's crash created a sizable crater in the location of his descent. But it was to be expected. Other than the fact that Poland had the natural upper-hand since gravity was on his side, the power boost given by a Rank 3 HTB suit, although half destroyed, wasn't something a Rank 2 HTB could easily contend with. Furthermore, with the thrusters propelling Poland, together with his much heavier weapon, it was already very impressive that Lei Shi's arms didn't break.

Lei Shi stood in the middle of the crater, looking at Poland who was now standing at the side of the crater, showing no fear even though he lost in the last exchange.

He could've dodged Poland's attack, even if Poland had increased his attack range in midair by detaching the head of his mace from its handle, due to the speed that he (Lei Shi) was famed for, but he decided not to. Running away simply wasn't his style.

Without saying any words, they charged at each other to begin their fight.

As Lei Shi approached him, Poland shot the head of his mace to the airspace at his left, and with the chain connecting the airborne spiky ball to its handle in his hands, he spun from the left, pulling the airborne spiky ball with him, gathering centrifugal force, and smashed the spiky ball at Lei Shi.

Upon seeing the spiky ball coming at him like a meteor, Lei Shi jumped high into the air, evading the attack. But Poland who seemed to have been expecting such an outcome didn't slow down in the slightest, but instead added more force to his spin, rotated once more and sent the spiky ball crashing at Lei Shi who was still stuck in midair.

Looking at the spiky ball coming at him again, this time with twice as much force as before, Lei Shi pulled out his gun, a three-foot long rifle who's nozzle had two parallel blades protruding from its top and bottom, from the back of his waist and shot at the incoming spiky ball. The bullet, powerful due to being charged since it was behind his waist, was able to slow the spiky ball down. But unfortunately that was it. The spiky ball still possessed majority of its force.

HONG

Lei Shi punched the spiky ball with all his might, causing the bones of his arm to crack, and the rebound force sent him crashing to the ground.

Before Lei Shi reached the ground, he shot, using his gun that was still in his other hand, a five-pronged device towards the spiky ball that was being retracted.

Instead of hitting the spiky ball as expected, it struck the chain that was pulling it.

The prongs of the device went through the loops of the links of the chain it struck, and began rotating with great force. Consequently, it ended up turning the originally long chain strap into an untidy ball of chain. This move made retracting the chain into the handle and reattaching the head of the mace to its handle impossible.

Without delay, Lei Shi stood up and dashed towards Poland like a streak of lightening, not giving him a chance to destroy the device. He raised his saber and hacked at Poland's head.

Seeing the rapidly approaching Lei Shi, Poland made a quick decision, and through some method, managed to disconnect the chain from the handle of the mace, turning it into a pole. He then hastily placed it horizontally above his head to defend against the saber strike Lei Shi aimed towards his head.

DANG

After that attack was blocked Lei Shi rained more attacks on Poland, not giving him any room to breathe nor counterattack, and with Poland's right-hand bare of his HTB suit, he was finding it difficult to force his way out of his current predicament. Lei Shi didn't give Poland any leeway because if he gave him some breathing space, he would turn the tables around and that will spell his doom. Forget that he was wounded earlier, with part of HTB suit destroyed; Poland was a seasoned veteran when it came to killing.

Sparks flew in the air as Lei Shi attacked crazily; he hacked from above, slashed from the side, then sent a kick from the other side, and then stabbed towards Poland's head.

After Poland had blocked the last stab, by pushing the saber downwards, using the mid-part of his pole, while holding it with both hands towards its ends, Lei Shi suddenly jumped and head-butted Poland, sending him staggering backwards.

So as to not let Poland use this as an opportunity to create some distance between them, Lei Shi lunged at him and hacked at his injured right-shoulder three times, and then hacked once towards his right-leg. Although he was blocked every time, Lei Shi performed this sequence an odd four-times, that when Poland saw him move to attack his right leg for the fifth time, he expected that Lei Shi wished to repeat it five-times before trying something else.

But to his great surprise, the attack was a feint and Lei Shi instead hacked towards his right-shoulder for the fourth time, therefore breaking the sequence. However, Poland wasn't able to lift his sword-wielding right-hand up in time and got hacked on his shoulder.

It was to be expected, because other than Lei Shi's left-sided hacks being naturally stronger than his right-sided hacks due to him being left-handed, all his hacks contained the full-power his HTB suit could provide, therefore straining Poland's bare and injured arm that was not reinforced by his HTB suit, leading to his movements being sluggish, and causing him to be hacked.

Electricity from the saber stunned Poland and ravaged his insides. Only after putting in great effort was he able to forcefully pull away. Unfortunately for Poland, the removal of the saber caused blood to stream out of the wound.

Barely two seconds later, another saber strike came, aimed straight for Poland's head, causing him to hastily block with his pole. And that was the opening to another round of crazy attacks from Lei Shi. But this time around, Poland's movements were clearly slower and were growing increasingly sluggish due to the pain and blood loss from the wound.

*Slash* Lei Shi's saber cut Poland's thigh after he attacked for two minutes.

*Slash* the right side of Poland's belly was slashed after another two minutes of blocking Lei Shi's barrage of attacks.

*Spurt* Poland's left-thigh bled from being stabbed about a minute and a half after he was slashed last.
