Chapter 1 - Chapter - 1

Title is spoilers. So I decided to make my title in numbers.

--------------------------

When I opened my eyes, all I saw was a blue sky and drifting white clouds. I jolted upright.

"Huff… huff… What—what happened? Argh!" Clutching my throbbing head, the memory hit me like a truck. Literally.

"I saved that girl… Is she okay, I wonder?" After gathering my thoughts, I glanced around.

"…Where am I? Is this the afterlife? Did I really die?" I pinched my cheek.

"Ouch. Still hurts… Where am I?" I stood up and started walking straight, hoping to find a sign of life. But all I saw was forest. Dense, endless forest. I tried turning left, then right. I zig-zagged. No change. Just trees and more trees.

After about an hour of wandering aimlessly, I gave up. Mostly because of the hunger.

*growl*

"This noises, yeah, it's a noise that came when one is, hungry! and I am that guy," I start glanced around, looking for a food source, but still, a forest.

"... Is it time to begin my career as a hunter? Yeah. Yeah, let's do it. I can do this. Let's go, me! The path to becoming a professional hunter starts—NOW!"

*Several hours later*

*Indescribable growling noises*

"Help… someone… I'm hungry… ugh~"

Hello everyone. Yep, that's me. You're probably wondering, why and how did I end up in this situation. Well, to answer that question, firstly, we must did a little bit flashback.

*few hours earlier*

Wait, actually no. Ill just explain. It's cost less words.

*back to now*

"WHY ARE THERE NO ANIMALS IN THIS DAMN FOREST?!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, hoping someone—anyone—would hear me.

"Sighh... There aren't even any fruits. Just grass and weird-looking mushrooms… Wait, mushroom?" A plump, purple mushroom caught my eye.

I stared.

It stared back. (Probably.)

"*gulp* Looks edible." Without hesitation, I snapped it off and took a bite.

"PFTTT! COUGH COUGH WHY THE HELL IS IT SPICY?!" I bolted off, frantically searching for water. After a few minutes of panic running, I stumbled across a river.

"Water! Yes!" I dropped to my knees and started slurping like a dehydrated beast.

"…Huh? Does water normally taste like this? It's kind of… sour? Wait, no—salty? What the hell is this taste…? And why is the water white?"

Shrugging off the weirdness, I kept drinking, desperate to wash the spicy mushroom trauma out of my mouth.

Meanwhile, behind a thick bush not far from our mc, two orc-like creatures were watching the scene unfold.

"Should we tell him?" one grunted in their orcish language.

"I don't know," the other said. "Let's just report to the chief. There's a human in the forest."

"Alright, let's—!!!"

They both froze.

The human had dunked his entire face into the river and was slurping like a man possessed.

"…"

"…"

They stared, dumbfounded.

"That's it. I'm telling him," one said, stepping forward. But just as he moved, a hand stopped him.

The other orc shook his head.

"Sometimes… ignorance is bliss. Let him be. We have a mission. The chief awaits."

"But he—"

"Shhh…" The orc held a finger to his lips. "It's okay. Let's go."

The reluctant orc sighed and followed.

.

.

"Puah!!"

I yanked my head out of the water, feeling refreshed.

*growl*

"…Still hungry, huh? Well, at least I'm hydrated."

I looked back at the strange, white river.

"…Seriously, why are there no fish? Isn't this supposed to be a river?"

I gave it one more glance, then stood up.

"Even though the first step was abysmal, giving up isn't an option! A true hunter never surrenders!"

I struck a pose.

"Alright, me—round two begins now!"

And just like that, my journey to become a professional hunter began—

.

.

.

Yeah, no. That was a joke. I don't even know where I am, let alone what's going on.

I'm supposed to be dead. But somehow, I'm alive… dumped in some strange forest, no explanation, no guidance.

"Well, at least I still have my phone! Hehe~"

I pulled it out of my pocket and unlocked it. My beacon of hope, my digital lifeline.

"Hehe… with this in my possession, I shouldn't have to worry abou—"

*Screen goes black. Battery logo appears*

"…"

Just like that, a legend about an indescribable scream was created.
