"What the hell are they talking about in there?" Kael demanded, his voice sharp with irritation.
Veyr let out a heavy sigh, his patience wearing thin. He rolled his eyes at Kael's relentless attitude but held his tongue. No matter how much he urged Kael to calm down, the possessive alpha would always do what suited him best.
There was little Veyr could do about someone as stubborn as Kael. But his mind was elsewhere, tangled in thoughts of Ryn and how Sylas's return might shift their dynamic. Would Ryn still care for him, or would he forever be the third choice?
The doubt gnawed at him, though he tried to push it aside. There was no denying Ryn's bond with Sylas was the strongest among the three of them. When the time came for Ryn to choose a mate, what if Veyr wasn't the one?
