Naph's eyes carried a spark within it. A spark that could light a great fire.
Cryst wasn't blinded by it. She saw it too. Pushing it to the back of her mind, she called out.
"Team! Assemble!"
Ennet simultaneously turned her back to Naph and began stretching her neck muscles. She was preparing.
"So, you a heart snatcher?"
Ennet's hand slipped hearing Naph's words. 'I am a what?'
Cryst gave a side-eye to no one in particular. But Naph felt it.
Astref roared from way beyond the crossroad. "I'll kill you all!"
Naph spun to face Astref's direction. 'He won't stay do-'
Astref and his sword were right next to Naph's neck. Naph thought 'Ca'.
Mirrored shards materialized all around Naph and their direction of movement was fixed towards Astref. Cryst grabbed Naph's shoulder within that split moment before the second could be over. Ennet however, she chose to suddenly appear between Naph and the sword ready to block and attack Astref.
Her one hand millimeters away from grabbing the sword, the other also millimeters away from punching Astref's cheek.
Before the moment was over, Astref got punched into a building and Ennet had her arm split open.
Mirrored shards flew after Astref as he slammed into a three storied building. It collapsed on top of him.
Naph was pulled into an embrace by Cryst as she began flying upwards holding on him.
"I am taking him! Others get to my position fast!" Cryst called out.
Naph's breath snuffed by her chest. He tried speaking something into her, but his mouth was shut tight against his will.
He grabbed on her face with his free left hand. Cryst's eye got poked.
"What?!" She pushed his face away from her chest.
"My ride and Bulwark!" He pointed down at the crossroad. They still haven't climbed higher than four stories.
She looked down and Ennet glanced up. Her arm mangled but healing with a slow rate. Her face covered with her own blood that was splashed on to her.
Ennet nodded.
Cryst understood and came down. Not next to Ennet but Naph's ride and placed a hand on the white tarp covering the ride. The white tarp constricted all around the ride and Bulwark binding it together neatly.
Then she flew.
Astref however had recovered and Zanlo had escaped from his imprisonment under the invisible force.
Zanlo shouted, "Astref! Leave Naph to me. Kill the dark haired girl! She has more cata than everyone combined here!"
Cryst turned her head and stared at Zanlo. Zanlo stared back with a smile. One devious than any Naph had seen.
Her eyes flared. Next thing Zanlo knew was that he was drowning in green flames.
Calm as ever he rose his left hand in a swift motion.
Blood rose following it. Zanlo engulfed in flames. His skin melting and ripping off him. He pointed his forefinger at Cryst and Naph. The blood that rose at his command sprang up immediately.
It dove through the air from several directions converging at one point. Cryst and Naph's position in the air.
Realizing the danger she took her eyes off Zanlo. Flying straight up to escape into the heights of the sky.
Blood tendrils raced after her like javelins guided by an unknown force.
Astref simultaneously closed the distance between him and Ennet. Only to be struck down immediately by none other than the spear wielding Dykur.
Dykur standing atop him asked Ennet, "What are my next orders, ma'am?"
"I already gave one. Go and fulfill it," she held onto her left arm as its healing was reaching its final stages of closing the wound. Her entire sleeve was red with blood.
Hesitation shimmered on Dykur's face but he nodded to her command.
Flying after Cryst as he channeled his cata into the spear and thrust at random blood spear-tendrils demolishing them in an instant and vaporizing the blood.
Similarly others left one by one the bloodied crossroad. All six who came in to protect Naph left. Now only Ennet stood in the center while Astref coughed blood lyding down in the blood of his and others he and his partner have murdered.
Before Ennet could do anything next, lights blossomed from under the blood pool in the crossroad from several places. Places where the Streno knights were killed.
"Fascinating," resounded in the crossroad.
Four more buildings fell instantly as Ennet took a knee in convulsion. Blood flowed out of her ears.
The voice vanished.
Wiping her ears with her hand, she rose again. Her eyes scanned the devastation. One made entirely of concrete dust, blood mist and blood pool with random sightings of bone and flames.
The green flames that had engulfed Zanlo were devoured by him. He ate them.
"That…. was a nice meal." He thanked Ennet and her team.
She side-eyed him and began walking in the other direction. To the surviving enemies who came to capture Anaphol.
"Whaaat?! You are not going to engage me?" Zanlo called after her.
She answered, "There's no point in fighting a dead man." Waiting no longer she next appeared in the midst of seventy something group of attackers. Before all of them could tell what had appeared in their midst, she struck her right hand down so forcefully that an upstream draft formed. It not only shredded the seventy something group to dust, but cleared a large area of the crossroad free of its devastation revealing the ground beneath.
She looked back at Zanlo and Astref, "Are you willing to die for a lost battle?" She rose her left palm taking a stance taught in Jhorime.
Meanwhile, Dykur flew after Cryst and Naph clearing up more blood spear-tendrils. Others had joined him as well. Each one engaging and vaporizing the blood tracking Naph.
Naph looked behind Cryst and said, "Atleast tell me your names!"
Cryst spoke, flying faster and avoiding the blood spear-tendrils by barreling and swinging under or above them, "Did you not hear Ennet calling out our names?"
"Hearing and connecting them to correct people are two different things!" Naph shouted over the screaming wind.
Their speed was astonishing, but what astonished Naph more was the slow rise of the sun in the west.
