Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: Pentakill! Victory Secured

Honestly, anyone with clear eyes could see it.

East Arts Academy had already lost.

Sure enough, in the final decisive battle, the moment Vincent Fox made his move, East Arts Academy collapsed instantly.

"Contestant 'Vincent Fox' has slain contestant 'Emily Han'..."

"Contestant 'Vincent Fox' has double-killed contestant 'Zachary Liu'..."

"Contestant 'Vincent Fox' has triple-killed contestant 'Miles Langston'..."

"Contestant 'Vincent Fox' has quadra-killed contestant 'Liana Sherman'..."

"Contestant 'Vincent Fox' has pentakilled contestant 'Louis Hill'..."

In this final fight, Vincent landed a clean pentakill!

His damage was simply terrifying. With the boost from the red buff, his fire punches reached monstrous power whoever they hit, died instantly.

The five players from East Arts Academy were all burned down by his fire punches.

On Vincent's side, only Zoe Harper was killed.

And that was because she was tanking the tower and died from the damage.

With all five enemies down and no one left to defend the crystal, Martial Saint Academy quickly destroyed it.

Boom!

With a loud explosion, the crystal shattered, marking Martial Saint Academy's victory.

"Congratulations to Martial Saint Academy! They have won the match and successfully advanced to the next round!"

Outside the battlefield, the host's voice thundered across the arena.

The entire audience spontaneously erupted into applause.

Thunderous applause filled the venue.

Not because the match itself was especially brilliant but because the result was completely unexpected.

Originally, everyone thought Martial Saint Academy would definitely lose to East Arts Academy.

After all, East Arts was at least a second-tier university with some reputation.

And Martial Saint?

A no-name, bottom-tier academy. A place where you could basically buy your way in.

In past freshman tournaments, they were always at the bottom of the rankings.

No one expected Martial Saint Academy to stage a comeback and crush East Arts.

"They actually won! I can't believe Martial Saint really won."

"Honestly, their victory is all thanks to that mid-laner!"

"Yeah, if it wasn't for him, this match would've been much closer."

"Look at the post-game stats Martial Saint got ten kills total, and that mid-laner alone secured nine of them. That's just insane."

"Actually, that archer girl was pretty good too. She just got overshadowed by the mid-laner's dominance."

"Where did Martial Saint Academy even find a freshman like that? They really struck gold this time."

"I'm seriously looking forward to seeing how far they'll go in this tournament."

"Damn, if I had bet on Martial Saint winning, I would've made a fortune! The payout was five to one. I missed out big time..."

At the canyon entrance, the five Martial Saint Academy team members were already back.

Hearing the applause outside, Zoe Harper and the others couldn't help but cheer out loud.

"We won! We really won!!"

For them, winning even a single match was a huge accomplishment.

Autumn Summer smiled as she watched her teammates celebrate, not stopping them.

Then, she turned to Vincent Fox.

Autumn knew this victory was all thanks to this man.

At that moment, the three excited teammates suddenly stopped, exchanged glances, and then bowed in unison to Vincent and Autumn.

"Thank you, Captain. Thank you, Vincent. Without you two, we definitely wouldn't have won this match."

"Yeah! The main credit belongs to you two. We were just along for the ride."

"I heard Martial Saint Academy has never won a single match in the freshman tournament before. Thank you for giving us this honor."

Hearing this, Autumn quickly responded, "What are you doing? We're a team. Why divide credit like this?"

Vincent added, "Save this gratitude for later. When we win the national championship, you can do this all you like, I won't stop you then."

They were all stunned.

They never expected Vincent's ambition to be so high. His goal was actually the national championship!

That was something they didn't even dare to dream about.

"Alright, enough standing around. Let's head back first," Autumn said.

Everyone nodded and walked toward the waiting room together.

On the way, Autumn quietly walked beside Vincent and asked softly, "The national championship? You're serious?"

"What do you think?" Vincent replied just as softly.

Autumn thought for a moment and smiled. "If anyone else said that, I'd think they were joking. But with you, I actually believe it. Should we let you take over command from now on?"

Vincent shook his head. "No need for now. When we face a real opponent, I'll take over."

"Okay!" Autumn agreed without hesitation.

She really didn't mind Vincent taking the lead when the time came.

Ding!

As they spoke, Vincent's phone buzzed with a new message.

He opened it. It was from Terry Yan.

"Good work. Keep it up!"

Vincent casually put the phone away without replying.

"Who texted you?" Autumn asked curiously.

"Old Terry," Vincent answered.

Just as he finished speaking, another message came through.

This time, it was from an unknown number.

"Vincent, you were so cool just now! Keep it up!!"

The tone was clearly from a girl.

Autumn happened to see the message pop up since she was standing right next to him.

"Hmph!"

She snorted coldly, quickened her pace, and walked ahead to rejoin the others.

Vincent was briefly confused.

He had no idea who this mystery sender was.

But judging from Autumn's reaction it was obvious she was a little jealous.

Vincent chuckled and quickly caught up.

When they returned to the waiting room, the others noticed Autumn's mood had visibly soured.

What's going on?

She was perfectly fine earlier. Why the sudden change?

The team was a bit confused but didn't dare ask.

After this match, Autumn's authority within the team was firmly established.

Aside from Vincent, the others no longer treated her casually not even Zoe Harper, her own roommate.

Seeing Autumn's sulking face, Vincent figured he should probably explain.

Otherwise, if she carried this mood into the next match, it wouldn't be good.

He casually walked over, handed her his phone, and said, "Hey, I just got a random text from someone I don't know. I'm not sure how to reply. Want to handle it for me?"

Autumn paused.

Vincent shrugged. "Seriously, I have no idea who sent that. You take care of it."

Autumn immediately understood Vincent's intention, rolled her eyes, but couldn't help smiling.

The cold expression on her face finally melted away.

Watching her mood shift so quickly, Vincent couldn't help but think yep, women really can flip their moods faster than flipping a page.

At the same time, Vincent was still curious who exactly sent that message?
