Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: When Vincent Gets Serious, He’s Unstoppable

The Tyrant.

It was one of the most powerful monsters in King's Canyon.

Only the Shadow Overlord (the big dragon) could rival its strength.

Under normal circumstances, taking down the Dark Tyrant required an entire coordinated team. Someone had to tank the damage while others focused on sustained output.

And that was for strong teams.

For weaker academy squads, going after the Tyrant was basically suicide.

Soloing the Dark Tyrant? Nearly impossible.

So when Vincent Fox walked alone toward the Dark Tyrant, the spectators were not optimistic about his chances.

Even the commentator said, "It looks like Martial Saint Academy's mid-laner is heading to challenge the Tyrant after securing the red buff? He seems incredibly confident. While his damage is high, taking down the Tyrant requires more than just raw damage..."

In the spectator stands, the teachers from Martial Saint Academy were all frowning.

"What is Vincent doing?"

"Why would he choose to challenge the Tyrant now?"

"Isn't this a little too overconfident?"

Hearing the surrounding comments, Terry Yan also frowned, his expression souring.

Even he couldn't understand Vincent's logic.

With Vincent's strength, he didn't need the Tyrant's buff. He could have simply kept pushing mid and applied overwhelming pressure on East Arts Academy.

With coordinated timing from Autumn Summer's lane, they could have crushed East Arts Academy swiftly.

What no one knew was that Vincent wasn't going after the Tyrant for strategy or buffs it was purely for nostalgia.

Back in his previous life, he had fought countless chaotic battles over the Tyrant while playing King's Arena on mobile.

Naturally, he was curious to see the real thing up close.

For him, this first match was all about exploring and getting familiar with every corner of the canyon.

He wouldn't start playing seriously until the next match.

If people knew what he was thinking, they'd probably vomit blood on the spot.

Finally.

Vincent arrived at the river in the center of the canyon.

The water was shallow, just brushing against his ankles.

It was crystal clear.

Vincent walked calmly across the water and soon reached the Tyrant's lair.

Just like in the King's Arena game, the Tyrant here was a massive four-legged dragon.

It was huge and exuded a terrifying sense of power.

Standing in front of the Dark Tyrant, Vincent could genuinely feel its overwhelming presence.

At that moment, the Tyrant was lying in its den, eyes closed, seemingly asleep.

Vincent didn't hesitate. Without a word, he unleashed a blazing Flame Fist.

Boom!

A massive explosion of fire erupted from the Tyrant's body.

Its health bar instantly dropped by a tenth.

Vincent's attack jolted the sleeping beast awake.

Roar!

The Dark Tyrant let out a deafening roar.

Its slit pupils immediately locked onto Vincent.

This tiny human had dared to disturb its slumber!

Without a second thought, the Tyrant lunged at Vincent, raising one of its massive claws for a vicious swipe.

The beast was fast.

Its claw sliced through the river, leaving only a blurred afterimage.

But Vincent was faster.

He dropped into a quick crouch, effortlessly dodging the attack.

Whoosh!

A fierce wind brushed over his head, showcasing the terrifying force behind that strike.

Vincent remained calm, thinking, "The Dark Tyrant really is the strongest creature in the canyon. An attack like that would probably kill anyone with less than 100 points in physique… No wonder Terry said hardly anyone dares to fight the Tyrant during the tournament. It's just too dangerous."

"Of course, if I got serious, I could flatten this thing with one punch but there's no need for that."

"My tour of the canyon is pretty much over. I should wrap this up and finish the match."

At that moment, the Dark Tyrant, frustrated that it missed, leapt into the air and slammed down hard.

Boom!

The entire riverbed trembled violently.

Vincent was knocked into the air by the shockwave.

"So it has the same moves as the game… even this one?"

Vincent was genuinely surprised.

As he was flung skyward, the Tyrant swiped again, aiming to strike him midair.

Even though Vincent had full confidence in his own physique and wasn't afraid of the hit, there was no need to take it head-on.

Boom!

While in midair, Vincent's hands erupted with roaring flames.

He shoved a massive wall of fire straight at the Tyrant's face.

Seeing the flood of fire descending upon it, the Dark Tyrant was startled and quickly retreated, abandoning its attack.

Vincent seized the chance to pull away and disappear into the shadows.

"Just as I thought. The jungle monsters in this canyon have some level of intelligence. They know how to dodge player attacks."

Vincent cast one last glance at the Dark Tyrant and calmly exited the river.

When the flames dissipated, the Tyrant looked around but couldn't find Vincent anywhere.

It let out an unwilling roar.

Roar!!

The thunderous roar shook the canyon.

But eventually, the Tyrant returned to its nest and lay back down to sleep.

Despite its intelligence, the Tyrant, like in the game, couldn't stray too far from its lair.

Outside the battlefield.

Even though Vincent's skirmish with the Tyrant lasted just two exchanges, the audience was completely hooked.

"Holy crap! He actually got away!"

"I've watched so many matches, but this is the first time I've seen someone escape the Dark Tyrant's attacks in one piece."

"That was awesome! I really like this guy!"

"Seriously? Why provoke the Tyrant if you know you can't beat it?"

"I didn't get it either. I guess this is what happens when you're so strong you just do whatever you want."

Vincent had already returned to mid lane.

Now, he was ready to end this match.

Once he got serious, the slingshot-wielding student in mid lane was quickly tower-dove and killed.

The second tower soon crumbled under Vincent's relentless assault.

At this point, Vincent's kill count had reached five.

Without stopping, he bulldozed through the mid lane's high-ground tower.

Seeing Vincent about to threaten their core crystal, East Arts Academy finally panicked.

All their players immediately rushed home to defend.
