The pack regrouped in the safety of the inner territory. Warriors rushed to treat the wounded, while others reinforced the perimeter. Xavier, Damien, and Magnus stood together, eyes scanning the area as they tried to form a new plan.
I stayed close. I glanced at Magnus, who was covered in dirt and blood. He caught my gaze and gave a reassuring nod, though I could see the exhaustion in his eyes.
Damien was the first to speak. "We can't hold them off like this for long," he said. "They're too organized, too precise. Someone is leading them."
Xavier frowned, wiping the blood from his brow. "And whoever it is, they know us. They've been planning this for a while, waiting for the right moment to strike."
Magnus clenched his fists. "We need to find out who's behind this, and fast. We can't keep fighting blindly."
I, still catching my breath, looked around at the warriors who were tending to the wounded.
