Marie's POV
I was sitting in the living room when I heard Mancini's car stop outside. I sighed and stood slowly so I would go back into my room. There was nothing I did in the house anyway. I just sat around and moved around like I was trapped. If it tried to go anywhere, a bullet would find my head.
Lionel opened the door before I could leave and stepped aside. Standing beside him was Patricia.
I rolled my eyes. What was she doing here? It was late in the evening and she lived across town.
She was wearing a cream blouse tucked into fitted trousers, sunglasses still on even though she was indoors and it was evening. I stood there waiting to hear if they had anything to say to me. She entered with a broad smile on her face. Two men followed behind her carrying suitcases, three of them, all large and expensive-looking.
I stared in confusion at what they were doing.
