Chapter 452 - Chapter 452: Checkmate at the Capital of Time

Back in the Time Nest, uncertainty hung over the gathered heroes like a suffocating fog. After countless debates and strategic discussions that led nowhere, Raditz arrived at a grim conclusion: there was only one viable path forward.

They had to defeat Demigra.

The question burning in his mind was simple yet terrifying: just how powerful was this ancient demon god? Raditz tried to gauge it logically. Demigra couldn't possibly surpass Lord Beerus, could he? And even if the worst-case scenario came to pass, there were still the Angels. Raditz refused to believe that even a demon god could threaten beings like Whis.

But then again... Angels maintained strict neutrality. They wouldn't intervene in conflicts between good and evil—they only acted in accordance with the natural laws governing reality itself. If Demigra truly possessed power capable of annihilating everything, the Angels might not lift a finger even as entire universes crumbled to dust.

"I need to consult with Whis about this," Raditz announced, his voice cutting through the heavy silence. "If we truly can't prevent Towa from resurrecting Demigra, then we must prepare ourselves for battle."

"Battle... against a Demon God?" The Time Patrol members exchanged worried glances, their faces pale. Chronoa looked even worse—the color had completely drained from her features.

What she'd been guarding against for so long, what she'd spent millennia trying to prevent, was finally happening. The ancient and overwhelmingly powerful demon god was returning. Perhaps only a God of Destruction could stand against such a being. At this moment, she—along with everyone in the Time Nest—could do nothing but wait and hope.

"Then I'll leave this to you, Raditz." Chronoa's voice was tight with tension. "I'll prepare the sealing technique as well. If we're fortunate, I might be able to seal him away again. However, after all these years, I'm afraid..."

She couldn't finish the sentence. They both knew the truth—the sealing technique that had worked seventy-five million years ago might not work on a Demigra who'd grown stronger by absorbing timeline energy.

"I'd rather eliminate this threat permanently," Raditz said with a confident smile, his eyes gleaming with determination.

Why delay the inevitable with another temporary seal? Better to end everything here and now—to erase the demon god completely. The most pressing questions were whether Demigra would actually be resurrected, and if so, where Towa and her master would appear first. Raditz shook his head, pushing those thoughts aside for now. First, he needed to visit Beerus's realm and seek Whis's counsel.

In the blink of an eye, he materialized at the God of Destruction's world.

At that moment, Son Goku and Vegeta were still grinding away in the dimensional training space, pushing their limits. Only Whis and Beerus remained visible, sitting on their favorite massive boulder overlooking the lake—fishing rods in hand, the picture of leisure.

Whis stood with one hand elegantly positioned behind his back, gazing at the crystalline water with serene contentment. A faint, knowing smile played across his features.

"Oh my, Master Raditz! Back so soon?" Whis turned gracefully. "How are matters with the Supreme Kai of Time?"

"Lady Chronoa is unharmed, but the Time Egg was stolen," Raditz replied grimly. "The Demon God Demigra is likely to be resurrected at any moment. The Supreme Kai of Time has no effective means of restraining a demon god of his caliber. Even if she attempts the old sealing technique again, I doubt it will hold—too many years have passed, and he's grown far stronger."

Raditz laid out everything honestly—the dire situation in the Time Nest, the bad news about Demigra's imminent return, Frieza's mysterious involvement with Towa. He connected all the pieces, painting a complete picture of the interconnected threats they now faced.

"Do you remember that monster in Universe Six?" Whis asked suddenly, his tone deceptively casual.

"Hm? You mean Baby?"

"He was transported from a parallel timeline using Demon Realm energy. Undoubtedly, that was Towa's doing as well."

The pieces clicked together in Raditz's mind. Of course! At the time, Baby's sudden appearance had seemed too strange, too perfectly timed to be coincidence. If Towa had orchestrated it, everything made perfect sense—it was another piece of her grand design.

At that moment, Beerus yawned lazily, his head resting on one hand, eyes half-closed. "That woman Towa has been setting up all these elaborate schemes, and for what? Nothing special at all! This Demon God Demigra—if he causes trouble in my universe, I'll destroy him without a second thought."

"Hohoho, of course that would be simple for Lord Beerus," Whis said with a gentle, knowing smile. "However, Master Chronoa is in a different position than you are." He turned his attention back to Raditz. "By the way, Master Raditz, as a Supreme Kai yourself, what do you plan to do about this situation?"

Raditz clenched his fists, feeling the familiar surge of battle-hungry excitement rising in his chest. "To be honest? I want to test myself against Demigra. Every time Towa throws corrupted warriors at me, it pushes me to new heights. Fighting against a legendary ancient demon god... it might be exactly what I need to finally break through into the realm of the gods completely."

He recalled all his past breakthroughs—the moments where overwhelming opponents had forced him to transcend his limits. The memory sent anticipation rushing through his veins.

"Hmph. Don't think it's that easy," Beerus scoffed dismissively, though there was a hint of respect buried beneath his contempt.

"Master Raditz always thinks differently from most people," Whis observed with that enigmatic smile, neither encouraging nor discouraging. "Lord Beerus, might you be interested in visiting the Time Nest?"

"What for?" Beerus's cat-like ears twitched with mild curiosity.

"I suspect Demigra's next target will be the Time Nest itself. If Master Raditz wishes to fight the demon god, that's where the battle will take place." Whis's tone was light, but his words carried weight.

Raditz considered this for a moment. Yes, that made perfect sense. Demigra harbored seventy-five million years of hatred toward the Supreme Kai of Time—revenge would be his first priority upon resurrection. With Whis and Beerus present, what did they have to fear from any demon god?

"Fine, let's go to the Time Nest," Beerus said with another yawn. "Not that I'm interested... it's just that staying here has gotten boring."

"Once Mr. Son Goku and Mr. Vegeta complete their training session, we'll all go together," Whis suggested pleasantly.

"Why bring those two along?"

"Consider it a reward for their diligent practice."

And so the pieces moved into position.

The Time Nest waited anxiously for news from Raditz. Raditz waited patiently for Son Goku and Vegeta to emerge from training. Meanwhile, the Demon God Demigra traveled through fractured timelines, collecting the final fragments of energy needed to perfect his resurrection.

In one particular timeline, an entire temporal segment collapsed under Demigra's interference. The energy of that reality—every moment, every possibility—was devoured completely by the demon god. Demigra smiled with arrogant satisfaction, his eyes piercing with a cold light that promised destruction. He gripped his scepter tightly, looking for all the world like a tyrant who'd already conquered all of space and time.

"The time has come," he declared. "Let's go."

"Where are we going?" Towa asked, unable to hide her surprise.

From the very beginning, she'd followed Demigra through the shattered time fragments, watching as he harvested their energy. But she still didn't understand his ultimate intention—what was all this preparation building toward?

Demigra seemed disinterested in explaining. He simply continued his work methodically, shuttling from one broken timeline to the next, until he'd collected sufficient power.

Towa realized with growing unease that Demigra was preparing for something massive. Panic began to creep into her thoughts. She was used to being the one pulling strings behind the scenes, manipulating Mira and others like pieces on a chessboard. But now she found herself thrust onto center stage, and for the first time in years, she felt genuinely vulnerable.

Before she could voice her concerns, Demigra raised his scepter. A vortex of space-time tore open before them—but this wasn't the dark, swirling chaos of typical Demon Realm portals. This black maelstrom led to somewhere bright, somewhere sacred and solemn.

Their destination.

"The Time Nest—the headquarters of those space-time patrollers. Chronoa's little sanctuary," Demigra said with a cold smile, his crimson eyes blazing with murderous intent that could devour souls. "I'm going to tear it all down."

He'd been planning to attack the Capital of Time from the very beginning. The energy he'd collected wasn't just to perfect his resurrection—it was to force open a direct path to the Time Nest itself!

Only Towa truly understood how formidable the space-time barriers protecting the Capital of Time were. When she'd invaded to steal the Time Egg, she'd burned through nearly half the energy she'd accumulated over countless years—including the massive power surge she'd deliberately created by unleashing Baby in Universe Six. And yet Demigra accomplished the same feat with seemingly minimal effort.

Incredible. Truly worthy of the title "Great Demon God."

Towa followed Demigra through the dimensional gateway into the Capital of Time. The moment they emerged, her expression transformed from anticipation to horror.

She saw Chronoa—the Supreme Kai of Time—standing ready. Beside her were Raditz and Trunks, along with the rest of the Time Patrol. But that wasn't what made her blood run cold.

Standing beside Raditz was Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction himself!

"Lord Demigra..." Towa's voice came out as barely a whisper, laced with fear.

"HAHAHAHA! This is perfect!" Demigra's laughter rang out across the Time Nest, filled with genuine delight. "Originally, I only planned to manipulate Chronoa—to use her to create chaos and disorder throughout the timelines. But with the God of Destruction here? Even better! I'll control him directly. He'll destroy everything himself, and from the ashes, I'll create new life! A new multiverse shaped by MY will!"

The demon god's smile was radiant with dark joy, as if the universe itself had just handed him an unexpected gift.

"Control... the God of Destruction?" Towa could barely process what she was hearing.

"Watch and learn," Demigra said, his voice dropping to a menacing growl. "Whether it's the Supreme Kai of Time or that Saiyan pest, they'll all die at the hands of the God of Destruction. They'll be buried forever along with this universe."

He punctuated each word with deliberate weight, murderous intent dripping from every syllable like venom from a serpent's fangs.
