Chapter 306 - Old Friends

The shift in the air was almost tangible as I locked eyes with Ronan across the room. The after-party for Rhys's dedication ceremony was still going strong, but my conversation with Iris had left me with a fierce determination burning in my chest. Seeing Ronan chatting casually with some pack elders while Lyra sat alone on the far side of the room was the final spark I needed.

"Excuse me," I said to Kaelen, squeezing his arm before slipping away.

I strode across the room, weaving through conversations and clinking glasses. My rose-gold hair was coming loose from its elegant updo, but I couldn't care less. When I reached Ronan, I tapped him firmly on the shoulder.

"We need to talk," I said, my voice leaving no room for argument.

Surprise flashed across his face. "Seraphina? Is everything—"

"Outside. Now." I turned on my heel, not waiting to see if he followed.
