I watched my sister's face carefully as Theronius entered the room, his kind eyes assessing Lyra's fragile state. The revelation that we had both been targeted by the black-robed priest had shaken her to her core. Even now, I could see the slight tremor in her hands as she clutched the throw blanket around her shoulders.
"I've brought something that might help," Theronius said gently, holding up a small vial. "A mild sedative. It won't put you to sleep completely, but it will calm your mind."
Lyra hesitated, her doctor's instincts visibly warring with her need for relief. "What's in it?"
"Natural ingredients, primarily. Valerian root extract, with a touch of werewolf herbalism that helps soothe human nervous systems." He offered it to her without pressure. "Only if you want it."
After a moment's consideration, she nodded and took the vial. "Thank you."
