Kael's POV.
I stormed out of my study, my heart pounding like a drum in my chest. My boots slammed against the stone floor, each step echoing in the long, dim hallway.
The torches on the walls flickered, casting shadows that danced like ghosts, mocking me. My fists were clenched so tight my knuckles turned white, and my jaw ached from grinding my teeth.
Aria's words rang in my ears, "I was scared. I didn't know how to tell you." But it wasn't enough. Not after what the elders had just told me. Not after they ripped apart everything I thought I knew about her.
She wasn't Celeste. She was Aria. An Omega, not the Gamma I was supposed to mark as my Luna. The truth burned in my chest like fire, and I couldn't shake the image of her standing there, tears streaming down her face, begging me to listen.
