"If your powers have recovered a bit, can't you make the guy guarding us stop?"
Cyclops understood that Emma wanted him to use his optic blasts to repel their guard, but wasn't that completely redundant? Couldn't she just use telepathy to make him leave on his own?
[I can't, Scott. The target isn't human. He has no brain or soul. He does have observable thought waves, but I can't read them. It might be some kind of… robot?]
Emma's answer stunned Cyclops. This guy, who looked like Human Torch, was actually a robot?
Peter didn't know what had just happened. Sinister hadn't actually entered his mind. Therefore, Peter was still very nervous after hearing Sinister's words and punched Sinister with the fastest speed he could muster.
As for Sinister, in those brief seconds, he hadn't touched a single one of Spider-Man's thoughts, so he just stood there in a daze, like Diavolo struck by Gold Experience Requiem, doing nothing at all.
He had achieved the ability to control the lightning within himself freely. This thunderous strike perfectly coincided with the moment Sinister subconsciously felt himself being impaled by a giant spider. As Sinister's mind suffered a massive impact and he was dazed, returning to reality,
The pure white, lightning-infused fist landed squarely on his face, smashing his Victorian English gentleman's face into a mess. Teeth flew directly from his mouth, and he spun three times in the air before crashing heavily to the ground.
He lay on the ground, looking at Spider-Man, who had just punched him, and realized that the "Leech" gene he used against mutants was ineffective against him, and his mastery of the "Jean Grey" gene, telepathy, was also ineffective.
Sabretooth's healing factor was limited, and as for Red Omega's "Death Pheromones," they hadn't had any effect after all this time.
What other genes had he spliced into this body? Magneto's gene? Without skilled development, Magneto's powers could only be used to play with coins. What other genes were in this body?!
He reached out, intending to use his only effective telekinesis to deal with Spider-Man, but found that Spider-Man had vanished. Combining this with previous incidents, he probably understood that Spider-Man could now turn invisible.
So he chose to rip up the floorboards. The surrounding metal plates were torn up by him, used to protect himself. Then Mister Sinister opened his mouth and exhaled red smoke. He successfully saw the moving Spider-Man in the mist. A cold smile appeared on his face, and he began to telekinetically move containers from the dock, throwing them at Spider-Man.
Peter had originally intended to sneak up on Sinister, but Sinister, somehow, had acquired other mutant abilities and began to adapt to the environment.
He used his telekinesis to pluck a flame from the original Human Torch, then manipulated the fire, waving it towards Peter. With flames in front and containers falling from the sky behind, Peter's path was almost completely blocked.
If it were the old Spider-Man, he might have needed other methods, but the current Peter was full of confidence and needed no dodging whatsoever. His web-shooters fired strands of electrically conductive web, which he then swung around.
Lightning began to extend along the webs like two whips. Peter swung the electric whips, directly splitting the falling containers in half. He then lashed the whips at Mister Sinister, and before the webs burned through, he first secured them around Sinister's neck and unleashed the maximum biological electricity he could generate.
In his agony, Peter sensed something amiss. The prickling of his spider-sense made him turn and throw a punch. Mister Sinister, who had teleported behind him, stared wide-eyed in disbelief at his chest, pierced by Peter's fist. The blue smoke from the teleportation hadn't even dissipated yet.
"Oh, sorry... I remembered you have a healing factor, so I put a little more force into it."
Peter, pulling his hand out, suppressed his disgust and vigorously shook it, relieved to be free of the sticky sensation. Mister Sinister instantly collapsed. He was undoubtedly not dead and could even still stand. He tremblingly looked at the original Human Torch, issuing a mental command for Human Torch to act.
The original Human Torch looked over and began to ascend. Cyclops, noticing this perfect opportunity, activated his powers with Emma's help. A spatial fissure tore open between his eyes, and a massive amount of energy poured out, directly enveloping the original Human Torch.
For some reason, after resisting the blast for a while, the original Human Torch looked up at the sky and flew away as if receiving some command.
The desperate Mister Sinister watched Human Torch fly away, then looked at Spider-Man, who had lifted him up, ready to accept his fate. But just then, an unexpected person saved his life.
Cyclops, having retrieved and put on his visor, walked over, saying, "Don't do that, Spider-Man."
"Uh... if I remember correctly, this guy is a scientist who's a repeat offender, loves doing human experiments, right? And I thought you guys killed him once already?"
Peter asked curiously. He had just prepared himself to kill someone (or something that might not even be human) when Cyclops suddenly stopped him.
"What?"
Cyclops paused, then realized Spider-Man had misunderstood him: "Oh no, I mean, hand him over to the White Queen. We can't let him escape with telepathy again. This time, we need to solve the problem once and for all."
It turned out that while Cyclops believed in the Professor's ideals, he wasn't so extremely gentle. Peter, understanding this, nodded and put Mister Sinister down.
Mister Sinister, clinging to life, shook his head and closed his eyes with a smile. The White Queen also closed her eyes. A few minutes later, she opened them with a grave expression.
"Mister Sinister fooled us all. He must have anticipated a situation like this. This was just a clone he was remotely controlling with telepathy."
Cyclops shook his head helplessly, then looked at the scattered Weapon X subjects, who hadn't recovered their abilities yet, and managed a smile. "At least we're not empty-handed, are we?"
"One more thing." Cyclops suddenly added: "We need to destroy the gene-splicing machine. We can't leave it for S.H.I.E.L.D."
Meanwhile, somewhere in Malaysia.
Ajax, the head of Weapon X, opened his eyes. The appearance of Spider-Man, a non-mutant, had disrupted all contingency plans. He had no choice but to abandon that body. In fact, everything had gone awry from the moment Spider-Man entered the gene-splicing machine.
Looking at the disappeared signal of the gene-splicing machine, Mister Sinister sighed. The data within it was crucial. To contend with the so-called Apocalypse, he had to create a mutant capable of rivaling him. And now, only one gene-splicing machine was left in the entire world. In other words, he needed to accumulate strength and steal the device from Genosha.
Just thinking about it gave him a headache.
Mister Sinister left, went to the cloning laboratory, and found its head.
"Dr. Sarah, what was that alternative cloning project for Weapon X called again?"
"X-23, Dr. Ajax."
The blonde female scientist looked at the current supreme leader of Weapon X. "Is something wrong?"
"Perhaps we really can't capture Weapon X. Let's use your backup plan instead."
The groundwork has been laid sufficiently. Now it's time to return to New York and deal with the stories that have already unfolded.
