The reassurance in Kolton's voice brought a wave of relief washing over Adalind's features. A satisfied smile curved her lips as she studied the sharp angles of his face.
She watched him lift the bottle to his mouth, the liquid disappearing in smooth swallows. The rhythmic bob of his throat drew her like a magnet. Her palm found its way to his chest, fingers toying with the top button of his crisp white shirt. Kolton shifted slightly, angling himself to catch her expression.
Adalind's breath warmed his skin as she leaned closer, her nimble fingers working to free each button from its hold.
Her lips brushed against his cheek in a feather-light caress before she positioned herself near his mouth, her voice barely above a whisper.
