Kolton's gaze followed Kimi until she disappeared through the doorway. Fury blazed behind his dark eyes like molten steel. The rage coursing through his veins threatened to consume everything in its path. He clenched his jaw, wondering how much longer he could contain the storm brewing inside him.
Turning sharply on his heel, he strode away from the house. His fingers found the cigarette pack in his jacket pocket. He lit one with practiced ease, the flame illuminating his hardened features for a brief moment before he slipped the pack back into his pocket.
He stopped walking when he reached a spot several yards from the pack house. His attention shifted toward the garage in the distance. Though the metal doors were sealed shut, concealing its contents from prying eyes, Kolton knew exactly what lay within those walls.
His footsteps carried him forward with grim purpose. The guard stationed beside the entrance immediately rose from his chair and offered a respectful bow.
