(Folded...)

Mewtwo's information instantly appeared before Ace's eyes. However, looking at its incredibly weak stats, Ace remarked that this was the first time he'd seen a Pokémon with Low-grade aptitude. What was even more terrifying was that this guy was a Legendary Pokémon!

"Could it be Blaine's genetic interference?"

Ace thought of a possibility. In this world's creation of Mewtwo, to prevent its collapse, Blaine had injected his own cells into Mewtwo's body. Mewtwo's cultivation stabilized because of this, but in turn, Mewtwo's genes also used Blaine's cells to backlash against Blaine.

"I'll see how it goes. If it's really no good, I'll release it."

Ace examined the Poké Ball in his hand. He didn't have strong feelings about keeping Mewtwo. After all, if he trained his Chansey well, it wouldn't be inferior to Legendary Pokémon, let alone a Low-grade Mewtwo. If he could beat it once, he could beat it a second time. A wild Mewtwo without a trainer, lacking accumulated experience, was actually quite easy to deal with.

"Click."

The Poké Ball opened, and Mewtwo half-knelt before Ace, panting. Chansey's previous Double-Edge nearly broke it in half. Even now, its abdomen ached intensely, making it impossible to stand upright.

"Still want to fight?"

Ace pulled something from his fanny pack, extending his hand to place it before Mewtwo, "This is what you're looking for, isn't it?"

Mewtwo raised its head, looking at the Mewtwonite Y before its eyes, slightly dazed. What it had been looking for was indeed on this human! It instinctively reached out, but Ace quickly pulled it back, saying to Mewtwo, "This is my item. Why should I give it to you?"

Mewtwo's raised hand froze in mid-air.

The pain had lessened considerably. Mewtwo stood up and communicated telepathically, "Human, you are strong, but I can feel that thing is useful to me."

"Oh, it can communicate. That makes things much easier."

Ace smiled and said, "Let me put it this way. You're now captured by me, so you're my Pokémon. If you follow my commands and willingly become my Pokémon, then I don't mind giving this to you."

"Impossible!"

Mewtwo vehemently denied it. Even if this human defeated it, its free nature would never allow it to submit to anyone!

"Hehe, you'll agree. First, I'll give you something. Victreebel."

Seeing Mewtwo's defiant stance, Ace looked at their 0 friendship level and called out to Victreebel, "Lend me your bell for a moment."

Victreebel backed away repeatedly, turning sideways to shield the bell tied to the base of its right leaf. Ace had given this to Bellsprout when it was disobedient. Now, Bellsprout had evolved into Victreebel, but to Victreebel, this item was a gift from Ace, its treasure. It would never give it to anyone or any Pokémon!

"Just for three days, can you lend it to me?" Ace tried to persuade it kindly, but Victreebel retreated even faster. Its actions conveyed a clear message: once it was in its hands, it was its property, and it would never give it to anyone!

Ace scratched his head, a bit helpless. If Victreebel was absolutely unwilling to hand it over, Ace could only dig into his own pockets and buy another Soothe Bell from the system store.

Tossing the other Soothe Bell to Mewtwo, Ace said to it, "I'll deal with your issues first, so you don't disturb our lives."

With that, Ace recalled Mewtwo into its Poké Ball, selected Mewtwo, and consumed five quest points.

"Detecting abnormal genetic interference within Mewtwo. Commencing exclusion..."

"Exclusion initiated..."

"Exclusion complete. Commencing repair of other physical ailments..."

As Ace began repairing Mewtwo's body, far away in Cerulean City, Blaine, who had already reunited with Ash, felt his twisted arm gradually calm down.

"This is..."

Blaine looked at his arm, which had returned to normal, in disbelief. He was stunned, sitting on his Rapidash.

"What's wrong, Blaine?" Ash asked, puzzled, seeing Blaine suddenly stop.

"Mewtwo... is free..."

Blaine sighed as he looked up at the sky. He never thought that the research result he wanted to destroy would now be beyond his control. Blaine was worried about what such a volatile and destructive Pokémon would do now that it was free. However, he had lost his way of tracking Mewtwo. Trying to find Mewtwo now would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.

"I can only monitor various cities for destruction to deduce Mewtwo's whereabouts," Blaine thought with a sigh, a hint of loneliness in his eyes.

Meanwhile, back with Ace, after the perfect body repair was complete, Ace watched as Mewtwo's aptitude instantly jumped three ranks, going from Low-grade directly to Top-grade. His eyes widened in disbelief.

Expelling Blaine's genes directly boosted Mewtwo's aptitude from Low-grade to High-grade. Afterward, the system repaired nearly a hundred large and small genetic defects within Mewtwo. With its genes fully restored, Mewtwo's aptitude leaped directly to Top-grade.

"I knew it! No wonder Mewtwo was so weak," Ace tossed the Poké Ball in his hand, a grin on his face. "Only like this is it worth training!"

"System."

"Mewtwo's Training Manual: Price 100,000 gold coins."

"...Never mind. I didn't say anything."

Whenever he caught a new Pokémon or one evolved, Ace would buy a training manual from the system store. But after glancing at Mewtwo's training manual, Ace decisively gave up. Damn, the purchase cost directly soared to 100,000 gold coins. Ace felt that even saving his quest rewards for a year might not be enough to accumulate 100,000. Especially since the first story arc was already over, and the side quests seemed pretty much dead, not moving at all, with no signs of new ones appearing.
