Chapter 171 – Greed and Lust
The kiss deepened, messy and unfair and absolutely earned.
He moved them backward, lips never leaving hers, until her knees hit the edge of the bed. She gasped as she dropped onto it, pulling him with her, and for a moment they just… existed.
Mouths hungry. Hands exploring. Breaths tangled.
But just before it spiraled into something more—something louder, riskier—Naomi gasped and turned her face away.
"Wait—" she breathed, fingers gripping the fabric of his coat. Her heart thudded like it wanted to say something her mouth hadn't figured out yet.
Lux pulled back slightly. His body was still warm against hers, his breath ghosting along her cheek. He didn't look irritated. He looked… curious. Controlled. Like a predator indulging a pause because the hunt was more interesting when it wasn't easy.
She stared up at him, flushed and flustered. "Did you come here for sex?"
