Miranda's POV
I glanced at the dark liquid and then at Doctor Sam again.
"You want me to take this?" It smelled like rotten vegetables and fermented urine.
"Yes, my lady."
I glanced at Alpha Colton, and he nodded, urging me on.
I groaned as I brought the cup to my mouth. Apparently, the woman had lied. His mark made me sick because I was without a wolf.
"Unghhh!" I groaned. The herbs didn't just look and smell horrible, they tasted even worse! "I can't take this."
I pushed the cup to him. "This tastes like fermented vomit."
He glanced at me, and I grabbed the cup and took another long gulp, swallowing everything.
The taste was worse the second time, and I winced and coughed. He caught my chin with his free hand, and his thumb brushed the corner of my mouth before he pulled the cup away.
"There," he said quietly. "Not so bad."
"It tastes so horrible!" I gagged.
He threw his head back and laughed, handing the cup to the doctor. "It's all to make you feel better, Miran."
