Chapter 127 - Chapter 127: Under Control

Xiao Feng inhaled a deep breath of the foul air, then clutching Blood Demon, he sprang upward with a forceful bounce. With a thunderous crash, the sewer grate was flung aside, and he rolled fiercely across the room. In that swift motion, Xiao Feng quickly discerned the positions of the cultists. Without hesitation, he unleashed a barrage from Blood Demon.

The gunfire echoed sharply—though not as potent as Black Angel's—yet the first cultist standing before Rice was instantly felled by a headshot, his body collapsing heavily to the ground.

"Bang… bang… bang…" Blood Demon roared relentlessly. At such close range, Xiao Feng needed no precise aim; within seconds, every bullet was emptied, each one striking a cultist squarely in the head.

The remaining cultists stood dumbfounded, utterly unprepared for Xiao Feng's sudden and ruthless assault. To eliminate ten enemies so swiftly was beyond their expectation.

With the gun emptied, Xiao Feng drew his alloy blade from his back and charged at the remaining foes with eerie swiftness.

The gunfire not only drew the cultists' attention but also roused the beasts stationed outside the door. They bellowed in fury, yet the narrow entrance barred their entry.

Inside, the remaining cultists were no match for Xiao Feng. His superhuman speed bewildered them utterly; with each flash of his blade, blood splattered. He showed no mercy.

As Xiao Feng dispatched the last cultist, Rice and Old White's faces lit with joy. "Xiao Feng, hurry and cut these chains! These are just small fries—the real boss hasn't arrived yet!"

Bound to a pillar, Ivy wept tears of relief, moved by Xiao Feng's heroic arrival. Which woman could fail to be touched by such courage?

Frowning deeply, Xiao Feng moved behind Rice and Old White, severing their chains with a swift stroke, then freed Brada and the other mercenaries.

At that moment, Little White emerged from the sewer, sinking his teeth into the chains binding Ivy. With a sharp snap, the chains broke free.

Rice tugged at his bonds, explaining grimly, "This time the cult brought out some heavy hitters. Old White and I were no match, so we were captured."

Anxious, Xiao Feng asked Old White, "What about Alice?"

Old White massaged his shoulder with a wry smile. "That bastard Lin took her and fled. Lin's as cunning as a fox, ha…"

Hearing Alice was safe, Xiao Feng's tension eased slightly, and he chuckled softly, "Lin certainly is sly…"

Rice nodded in agreement, "Too sly—we were caught off guard and captured. But Lin drove off with Alice."

As Rice spoke, the door swung open. A tattooed duke clapped his hands and entered. "Truly unexpected, Xiao Feng. I'm amazed you arrived here from Xindu so swiftly—and took down so many of my cultists. Impressive…"

Xiao Feng regarded the tattooed duke warily. He had clashed with these cultists multiple times now; each encounter left him more astonished by their power. He sensed that these cultists were no ordinary foes.

Clutching his alloy blade tightly, he warned Rice and Old White, "Stay alert…"

At that moment, Little White stood beside them, lowering his body and growling fiercely at the cultists.

Xiao Feng gave a sharp command, "Attack!" and surged forward, blade raised.

The duke in front sneered viciously, "Foolish arrogance…"

He feinted with his right hand, then with a thunderous boom, unleashed a swirling vortex of force aimed squarely at Xiao Feng's chest.

Startled, Xiao Feng had never faced such a powerful psychic before. He narrowly dodged as the vortex slammed into the concrete wall behind him, cracking it with a thunderous fracture.

Rolling forward, Xiao Feng swung his blade at the duke.

Clang! The blade struck as if against iron, frozen midair beside the duke's waist. The swirling currents repelled the strike, halting the blade's advance.

Astounded, Xiao Feng asked, "What level psychic are you?"

The duke's aura exploded violently, hurling Xiao Feng backward. He laughed mockingly, "I'm a level seven storm psychic. Now, prepare to die…"

Hearing "level seven" deepened Xiao Feng's concern. Such psychics were rare and fearsome—only a handful had reached that tier. One more level beyond that, and they became godlike entities.

Yet, steeling his resolve, Xiao Feng thought: no matter if he's level seven, I will defeat him.

Rising from the ground, blade in hand, Xiao Feng charged once more. Meanwhile, Rice and Old White were seized by other cultists wearing masks that obscured their rank, though their combat prowess suggested they were at least of duke status.

Suddenly, a gunshot thundered behind Xiao Feng. A slender bullet struck the duke's chest, causing him to lower his head in surprise and pain.

Xiao Feng turned to see Ivy standing boldly, wielding the mighty Black Angel, unleashing another powerful shot.

The bullet spun fiercely, striking the swirling aura shielding the duke. Though it slowed and weakened the bullet, it could not stop its advance.

With a resounding clang, the bullet embedded itself in the duke's armor. Though the armor withstood the impact, the force was still agonizing.

The duke shouted to his cultists, "What are you waiting for? Kill that woman at once!"
