Welcome to the Hell's Kitchen Cleanup live broadcast by BCC. I'm reporter Ellie.
In front of the camera, the blonde woman smiled warmly at the audience. Her voice carried a mixture of nervousness and anticipation, betraying her excitement for the impending conflict.
"There's still half an hour before the federal government's deadline. Right now, we can see the military has completely surrounded Hell's Kitchen, systematically blocking off every street." The camera switched to a busy sceneâsoldiers and police moving with tense precision and focused determination, as if confronting some unseen enemy.
"We also see a crowd gathered outside the barricades. I believe many are here to witness firsthand the fall of Hell's Kitchen, the cancer of the New York." The camera panned over the crowd. Some waved flags, others held up cameras, and groups chatted excitedly. Their cheers rose and fell in the air.
"We are fortunate to have General Ross here with us to explain the situation on site."
Ellie handed the microphone to a middle-aged man in military uniform with a stern expression.
"Currently, our forces have deployed 1,000 personnel around Hell's Kitchen, primarily to prevent any escapes. We have armored vehicles and fighter jets on standby. With the federal army's ironclad defense, not even a fly will get in!" General Ross declared confidently.
But before anyone could respond, something unexpected happened.
A Lamborghini suddenly appeared in frame, speeding toward Hell's Kitchen. The stationed soldiers and police froze, stunned by the audacity of someone trying to breach the blockade.
Still, no shots were fired. Instead, they watched vigilantly as the car rushed past them into Hell's Kitchen.
Reporter Ellie glanced at Ross in shock, silently questioning the reality of this so-called "iron wall."
Quickly recovering her composure, she explained solemnly: "The vehicle you just saw belongs to the federal government, so it was authorized entry. Civilians must not attempt to follow; otherwise, they risk injury from our troops."
Seeing Ross's fury, Ellie ended the interview and moved away.
Ross shouted after the retreating media, "You fools! Why did you let that car through?"
The soldiers exchanged confused looks. After all, it was a Lamborghini â its occupant clearly no ordinary person. They assumed a high-ranking federal official and dared not intervene.
"No one dared think the people of Hell's Kitchen could afford such a car," Ross muttered bitterly.
"Are you all mute? Speak up!" he barked, frustrated by their silence.
. . . . .
Inside the Lamborghini was the cause of the soldiers' scolding.
He drove carefully through the streets of Hell's Kitchen, eyes scanning the surroundings.
Locals glanced curiously at the car. Hell's Kitchen rarely saw such luxury. Most believed the owner wouldn't last long here. But today, with war looming, few paid attention.
"Damn it, I don't get why Alex Ray insists on living in this dump. Is this even a place to live?" muttered Stephen Strange to himself.
At the peak of his careerâas the car he drove plainly showedâStrange couldn't fathom why his college roommate Alex Ray stayed rooted in this rundown neighborhood.
With Alex's talents, he could have reached the pinnacle long ago.
It was Strange's first visit to Hell's Kitchen. If not for Alex, he vowed he'd never set foot here.
"Damn this filthy place, even my car's getting dirtier. Hell's Kitchen's on the brink, yet Alex won't leave," Strange grumbled, his tone sour but tinged with unease.
Soon, Strange arrived at the Good Luck Restaurant, following his GPS.
He eyed the entrance with curiosity.
"This is why Alex Ray gave up a bright future and returned to this place," Strange thought.
Seeing the shabby dog lounging at the door, he pitied his friend. "Alex must be strugglingâhis dog's a wreck."
They hadn't seen each other for years since graduation.
If Alex hadn't been one of the few people Strange still cared about, he wouldn't have come. Now was the time to show Alex how far he'd comeâand how wrong his friend's choice was.
"Alex must be panicking, scrambling for allies. Don't worry, I'm here to save youâbut he'll have to beg. After all, he always lost to me in college," Strange muttered as he pushed open the restaurant door.
What he saw inside shocked him.
A strange group in colorful attire gathered: Deadpool, Pietro Maximoff, Spider-Man, and Harry Osbornâthe new Green Goblinâpreparing for something.
Deadpool, even in full costume, eyed Strange warily. Everyone turned in surprise at the unexpected guest.
Pietro spoke first: "Sorry, the restaurant's closed. You should leave."
"Maybe I took a wrong turn," Strange thought. Faced with this motley crew, he doubted he was in the right place and prepared to leave.
But then a familiar voice stopped him: "Strange, what are you doing here?"
He turned to see Alex Ray sitting calmly by the door, holding a chess pieceâobviously playing a game.
Strange's frustration surged. He'd rushed here, worried sick, only to find Alex leisurely playing chess.
He strode over and sat down, irritation clear in his voice: "It's this late, and you're still playing chess? Time's almost up!"
Alex looked up with a calm smile. "Long time no see, Strange. Don't be anxious. It's a rare visit. Would you like some tea or water?"
Strange's eyes widened at Alex's calm demeanor, fueling his anxiety.
"It's this late, why are you drinking that crap? Do you think your crap's better than mine?
Do you know Hell's Kitchen is about to be destroyed? The government attack is imminent! When I arrived, I saw so many soldiers!"
His words held blame and concernâboth for Alex's attitude and the dire situation.
"Seems the Hell's Kitchen lord is behind this. Come with me now. If you don't leave, it'll be too late."
Pietro and Alex exchanged puzzled glances at Strange.
"Is something wrong? You Hell's Kitchen residents don't know that the lord of Hell is responsible?" Strange asked proudly, assuming Alex was clueless.
"Then you must know his name," Pietro said.
Frowning at Pietro's silver hair and rebellious look, Strange thought Alex's world had gone sideways after returning. What kind of people did he know? These guys looked like trouble.
"Don't know him. I'm a busy neurologist now. How could I care about people in some dump? If not for you, Alex, I wouldn't be here," Strange said offhandedly.
"Looks like I'm not as famous as I thought. You, a busy man, don't even know me," Alex replied self-deprecatingly.
Strange muttered, "Of course I wouldn't know him... wait."
"You mean you're the lord of Hell?" Strange finally caught on, his voice full of surprise.
"Who could it be!!!" Alex replied calmly.
