There is still one day left before the war.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Avengers Conference Room

Nick Fury had assembled the Avengers and the X-Men to discuss the battle plan.

"That's roughly the situation," Nick Fury said in a deep voice. "The chaos in Hell's Kitchen is not what's scary. What's truly dangerous is Alex Ray and his men."

"They possess immense power and pose a threat to world peace."

"Alex Ray must be eliminated. As for his subordinates, if they can be persuaded to surrender, do your best. If not, capture them alive."

"Then I wish you all success. Steve will assign the tasks next," Nick Fury said, turning to leave. He had other matters to attend to.

Mr. Fantastic barely listened to Nick Fury's so-called plan. Instead, his gaze swept over the gathered heroes, and ambition flickered in his eyes.

If he could control this group, he was certain he could do better than Fury.

As for the claim that Hell's Kitchen affected world peace, he scoffed quietly.

He understood the reason Fury wanted Alex Ray destroyed: he couldn't control that power.

If the Fantastic Four hadn't joined the Avengers, their fate wouldn't be much better than Alex Ray's and his group's.

In fact, he understood Alex Ray's approach quite well. If he had a force as powerful as Hell's Kitchen, he wouldn't join the Avengers either. It was just that Alex Ray was still too young. If it were him, he'd never have such a hostile relationship with the federal government.

"But soon, if their plan goes well, the Avengers will be led by me. Although I don't like the name Avengers. What should we call it?" Mr. Fantastic's mood lifted at the thought.

The Human Torch, standing nearby, had no idea what Mr. Fantastic was thinking. He turned to his sister, the Invisible Woman, and asked with confusion, "Why do we have to capture those people alive? Why not just kill them?"

His voice was full of doubt.

Invisible Woman Susan gave him a warning glance, signaling him not to ask further questions.

At that moment, the Thing bluntly interjected, "What else can we do? Those people in the federal government are just using this for research and brainwashing." His words sent a chill through the room.

Susan quickly told him to keep quiet. She knew these harsh truths could not be said aloud.

She looked around and saw the dissatisfaction and helplessness etched on everyone's faces.

They all understood but felt powerless to change the situation.

When Nick Fury's figure disappeared through the conference room door, Captain America Steve Rogers slowly stood.

He scanned the faces of every Avenger and X-Men present, recognizing the complex emotions: doubt, worry, even resistance.

"I know none of you want to be part of this war," Steve's voice echoed firmly. "But for the sake of world peace, to stop the spread of Hell's Kitchen, and to eliminate the source of evil — Alex Ray — we must stand up!"

"I will lead this charge!"

His words burned like a flame, attempting to ignite their fighting spirit.

But only sparse applause answered him, mostly from Hawkeye and the Human Torch.

No one else seemed to care about Steve Rogers, the so-called Captain of the Avengers.

Professor X stared into the distance with a faint smile, perhaps pondering whether S.H.I.E.L.D. would end up like Hell's Kitchen — and what the future held for mutants.

Though his heart was heavy with worry and anxiety, his face remained calm and composed.

Wolverine leaned against a corner, smoking a cigarette. He didn't care who the enemy was; he just wanted to uncover his past. His eyes held deep confusion and loneliness, as if lost in this world.

Natasha Romanoff rubbed her forehead in exasperation. Without Captain America's call to arms, things would be worse.

Dr. Bruce Banner — the Hulk — hated violence and war. He joined the Avengers to protect himself from military hunting and because S.H.I.E.L.D.'s advanced scientific facilities might help him restore his human self. He'd had enough of the raging green monster inside him.

Seeing Beast nearby — also a mutant scientist — Dr. Banner began a hushed discussion with him.

Storm openly opposed Fury's approach and knew many mutants were aligned with Alex Ray. Why should she help the federal government suppress her own kind?

Most present held no personal grudges against Hell's Kitchen. They had joined the Avengers only because they were forced into this conflict.

"Whether you're willing or not, don't hold me back," Captain America said with a shrug, scanning the room. He vowed to avenge Bucky, no matter the cost.

A steely light shone in his eyes — nothing could shake his resolve.

He knew many wouldn't put in full effort, but he didn't care. He was determined to kill Alex Ray, even if it meant sacrificing his own life.

"Everyone here should understand Alex Ray's strength, the Lord of Hell. Be careful — or you may end up trapped in Hell's Kitchen yourself."

Captain America gave a firm warning, then turned and left the room, preparing for the battle ahead.

Above S.H.I.E.L.D., Ikaris observed the scene unfolding in the conference room. He smiled as he spoke to Captain Marvel Carol Danvers, "Your teammates are interesting… but it looks like they're reluctant to join this war."

A playful, mocking tone laced his words.

Carol snorted dismissively, "Even without them, I can handle it. I don't know why we have a three-day deadline. What a waste of time."

Confidence and disdain dripped from her voice.

"Let's go. It's early; time to warm up," Carol said eagerly, taking Ikaris' hand and flying out into space.

Their figures vanished swiftly, leaving silence and emptiness behind.

In a S.H.I.E.L.D. office, Nick Fury stared out the window, his eyes deep with calculation.

He had anticipated the Avengers' reactions and left himself a contingency.

"Then I'll leave it to you," he said to the man lounging on the sofa.

The surprising thing: the man looked exactly like Nick Fury.
