A detective mind always searches for answers. But I'm done searching for them. Not the first time like this. Not the last time either.

[Chapter 4]
Hands wide open looking up I thought. I caught a glimpse of insects– not beautiful, small like humans. The wind flowing by my ears, waving of my hairs. As I felt the ground rushing towards me– fast. But my mind was quiet– eerily quiet. Like the time surrounding me has stopped. As if I am the only one floating in the darkened sky. Alone.
The sky before my eyes in its darkest form. The same blue sky which was colourless to me is now covered. It looked like night but there were no stars of hope but neutrons of destruction. How nostalgic… I can feel the adrenaline rushing through my body. My guts clenching, desperate for survival. Natural reflex.
Velmir city, known for its brightest days is now nowhere near lights. Same familiar buildings– broken, like ruins. Monsters approaching every day, new screams, new deaths occuring every single day. Destruction on its peak. When will this stop? Why do the gods of this universe make us face this?
Normally I don't think about these, yet today is different–
Falling?
I wasn't falling. Like I was drifting through a moment between life and death, between fear and surrender. Am I gonna die again?
At 400 feet, terminal velocity approaches fast. Roughly 53 meters per second by the time you hit. That's long enough to think if you're calm.
I am.
Few floors left till the impact, it would be instant. Bone turned to powder. Brain to jelly. But–
Not for me. Not today.
I wonder if this will hurt.
The crystals clacking one on another formed around my body like armor generating, gathering covering me– ready for the impact.

CRAAAAAASSSH!!!
It happened like a thunder clap. As I hit the ground of the parking lot with my armour like body sinking in– breaking the already broken pavement to sheer pieces. The same dirt, smell of concrete in a different atmosphere.
The sound of crystals tapping each other gathering on my hands as I stood up to find out the mindless undead at a distance. I swallowed hard but not losing my composure, I know I am strong, stronger than whatever the hell that thing is.
Hard to tell… humanly enough to tell he 'was' a human.
if I'm guessing he's an average 30-40 year old guy. Purplish skin along with ripped off shirt, I'm assuming he literally grew from inside of his shirt, altering his body structure.
The most interesting, eye-catching thing about him is, his arms, no legs, just arms. They are quite massive. Why are they so massi– thinking is just a waste of time. He's a… monster– after all. To my knowledge. His head is bent towards his chest. Eyes popped out a huge scar on his chest. Probably it was fighting with something earlier?
Enough. I need to strike. Let's see if this works. After a few seconds focusing concentrated crystals towards my palm, I need to create a weapon before I attack– this might do it. Concentrated crystals turned into a sharp 'crystal' sword. Better be durable.
If there was sun, this would've been shining. I don't really want to go poetic. Time to move.
Each step of mine– getting more tactical. Slowly getting faster rushing towards him.
GAAAAHHHHHHHHH
Scream– same bone chilling, terrifying, coming from his twisted vocal cords. Not the first time I've experienced this.
"HEY ASSHOLE LOOK OVER HERE"
This should divert his attention towards me. There he comes
THUMP THUMP THUMP
Cracking the road's crust now he is rumbling towards me.
Clenching on my sword I am ready.

November 28th ( 5 days ago )
Location : Vivion Airlines
inside of the plane, a female voice can be heard talking to another person
"I'm so excited when we will land in Velmir, aren't you too Clover? We're finally free. Escaped from that hell" She sounded a little down but still hopeful for the situation
"..." Clover didn't reply to anything, she is a bit tense because of what happened a few days ago.
After a few minutes of silence she spoke up
"Elina, thank you. For being together with me on this journey, I can never imagine if I could have survived without you…" she sounded depressed, which was reasonable.
Showing sympathy Elina said "Don't worry I am with you and I will help you as much I can, they can't hurt you no more"
Clover, 18, finally escaped her 'hell' Vivion, her hometown. Every single person just used her as they pleased and left her helpless. Often tormented by everyone, even her parents won't bat an eye if something bad happens to her. All they care about is their image in society even though her dad lost his job 2 years ago, while the family is barely surviving every day with minimal resources. No relationship worked for her. Everyone she dated either cheated on her or left her because they thought she was just playing things. Her reputation around schools wasn't good either, oftentimes she had to face fake rumours spread by her little enemies who can't face her one on one. After having years of torture in a toxic household. She finally escaped with her only good friend– Elina.
Elina, 19 graduated from her university, a very good friend of Clover. Recently got the ability to travel with Clover so they can escape from this hellish city together. She was also a part of a not so good environment. Oftentimes she and her side of the family had to face discrimination, unfairness. She even had to bear false allegations.
They both have stepped into this path of freedom even before they could reach their early 20s…
"Hey, what will you do first when you get into Velmir city? I can't wait to try their famous Sushi restaurant!" said Elina trying to cheer Clover up
"I will look for a job first, can't let money stop me you know"
"Yes we can also do that first we need to–"
Yes.
This was the moment when the flash came before the darkness, the great blackout. That one thing that made us. Humans. Beg for our lives. Which just–
Happened.
Windows that reflected eye blinding light sharp enough to take away the vision, everyone panicked, they understood that this situation isn't as normal as they thought. Impact was huge. Turbulence or thunderstorm was nowhere near this monstrosity.
"ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" Elina screamed
"WHAT'S GOING ON?" Clover panicked along with everyone.
When the light finally lost. The sky now became the passenger of the dark. No light, no hope. Just darkness.
The plane now started giving more chaotic directions. The pilots of the plane were completely lost in vision, the autopilot had failed to activate. Nor could they contact the control centre. The plane had now lost its complete balance and started diving towards the ground.
Elina held tight to Clover.
"It's okay, everything's fine. We will be okay"
breathing heavily gasping she gave false hope knowing damn well nothing's okay, nothing going to be fine
"It's okay I have accepted my fate, if this world doesn't want me to live I won't, but you don't deserve to die in this situation"
even in this situation Clover just smiled.
"I hope you don't die" Clover clenched Elina's hand, expressing her final goodbyes.
A strange flow of air filled the plane before crashing. Like a mossy dry smell occupied the plane. And what they saw was unimaginable.
A few people started having strokes and heart attacks. Not sure why this is happening to them.
Then happened the most devastating event in human history. Few people began to transform into weirdly shaped entities which no human could imagine in that situation.
"MONSTER!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH"
"HELP ME–" some people screamed. Few died on the spot.
The plane crashed like an arrow hitting its target– into a nearby train, flipping the train like a coin. Smoke coming out flowing out of the remaining ruins.
Death– it was raining…
The same dark figure appeared in front of Elina. With the same pale shivering satisfied smile. Before she could make sense out of this–
Her eyes flickered… she is now waking up
"Where are we?" having no idea her vision started to get normal. As soon as she woke up. She saw herself trapped or rather we can say guarded, protected by a tree like shelter. Besides her, Clover was lying unconscious. She noticed Clover's hands were connected to some sort of tree roots.
"MY GOD! CLOVER ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" Elina tried to wake her up.
Rubbing her eyes, Clover woke up.
"I think I'm okay. We, we survived?"
"Thank goodness you're okay. Looks like we survived this" Elina replied.
"Why is it so dark?" Clover asked in confusion having no idea what's going on
Right then–
"GAAHHHHHHHHHHHH" a bone chilling terrifying scream terrorized the atmosphere.
"D-did you hear that?????" Elina asked both confused and scared
"Wait what's happening? I am dizzy-" Clover couldn't speak any more. Both of them fell unconscious. They could only hear the monster rushing towards the train.
Present day (December 3rd)
Location : parking lot down the hospital (the spot where K'yan landed)
I stood in front of– whatever this monster is.
GAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
"Come on, don't you guys get really tired of screaming?" I said
Only a few meters of distance between us. As I track every one of his movements. 10 meters. 9 meters. 8 meters.
There he comes he flungeded his hands towards me– breaking the sidewalk. Bigger the body the slower it gets. Advantage towards me if you ask.
He'll attack form left. Ready.
Now! My sword carved into his skin as I threw a critical hit to his hands reaching his bones.
GAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
In agonizing pain he kept screaming.
I really don't want to kill him. After all he was a human. Nothing can be helped.
Swinging my sword I went with the flow– jumping over his head. And slashed right in the middle of his head pushing my crystals more and more deep into his wounds. Slicing his skull in half grinding his ribcage to dust. Dragging his head deep into the ground (towards the hell with me).
"Not that powerful are you?" I smirked.
Rest in peace whoever you were. It wasn't your fault that you died.
People say never underestimate worst case scenarios. I took that lightly.
Suddenly something came out of it and grabbed my legs. I couldn't move–
"What the hell? Roots?" Confusion and rage filled me. I couldn't move because the pressure was strong. Could this be another monster's ability? Am I getting targeted?
In just that right moment. My whole body got binded with silk like threads– quite sharp. Covering my rough crystal armoured body. I thought I could break free but it was hard. I was starting to struggle to get out of it just then I saw–
A black haired woman approached me, definitely with no intention of talking. Who is she? What is she doing here? I can see her eyes filled with murderous instincts. As she moved her hands my body felt tightened by the threads. If this goes on my armour will break. The roots started to grow upwards getting to my torso. I'm stuck in such a position where I can't breathe properly…
I am fucked.
