Chapter 96 - Ruke – The Dragon Who Strikes”

Arcane Drifters – Chapter 95: "Ruke – The Dragon Who Strikes"

The sky was black.

Thunder rumbled, but it wasn't natural.

It was calling something.

Somewhere in the city outskirts of Degranis Ridge, the battle had turned hopeless. Over two hundred Arcane Generals were closing in on a single hilltop — the ruins of an old Drifter camp.

And on that hill…

Stood Ruke.

His sword crackled with weak lightning. His breath was heavy. Blood leaked from his arm.

He had been fighting alone for thirty-five minutes straight.

Nobody had come to help.

But Ruke didn't care.

---

Above him, the sky shifted.

Arcane General AR-4 hovered in the clouds, leading the army.

> "You're brave, little lightning boy," he sneered.

"But bravery won't stop death."

Ruke looked up slowly.

His eyes, once gray, began glowing sky blue.

> "I don't need bravery," he whispered.

"I need thunder."

He dropped his sword.

Everyone froze.

Ruke raised both arms toward the sky.

The clouds shook.

Wind spiraled.

Thunder cracked like a whip across the heavens.

Then came the voice.

> "Awaken, Dragon Soul…"

---

A giant seal opened in the storm.

A blue dragon — made entirely of lightning — screamed down from the sky and merged with Ruke.

His body exploded with electric energy.

Crystals of lightning armor formed over his arms and chest.

Wings of thunder unfurled behind him.

His voice echoed across the battlefield.

> "DRAGON THUNDER MODE – AWAKENED!"

AR-4 shouted, "Fall back! NOW!!"

Too late.

Ruke vanished — teleporting in lightning flashes, slicing through Arcane generals one after another.

BOOM!

CRACK!

ZAP!!

Dozens fell.

His fists punched faster than sound. His kicks split the sky. Every breath released thunderbolts.

AR-20 to AR-40 vanished in blinding light.

Ruke's eyes locked onto AR-4.

He raised his hand.

> "This is for every town you destroyed. Every child you made cry."

> "STORMFALL STRIKE – THUNDER JUDGMENT!!"

A massive spear of lightning dropped from the sky like a god's sword, piercing the ground and exploding the entire ridge.

Silence.

Smoke.

Ash.

Ruke stood there, lightning fading from his skin.

He turned around slowly… and walked away.

Not because the battle was done.

But because his heart was finally awake.

He wasn't the weak one anymore.

He was the dragon.
