Arcane Drifters – Chapter 94: "Eliz Betham – Dark Rose Tempest"
The ruins of Old Sector 5 were soaked in poison rain.
Fires burned across shattered buildings. Arcane beasts crawled through alleyways. Soldiers were gone. Civilians had already fled. All that remained was the storm…
…and Eliz Betham.
She stood alone at the center of a ruined courtyard — her cloak torn, blood dripping from her fingers. Her staff was cracked. Her left leg was wounded.
Around her floated fifty Arcane Generals, all grinning. Their leader: AR-8, a tall, shadow-winged fiend with glowing green eyes.
> "You've lasted longer than expected," he sneered.
"But you're no warrior. You're a girl with cursed tricks."
Eliz stared forward, calm.
> "You're right," she said, holding her broken staff tightly.
"But I'm also something else."
She closed her eyes.
And then she whispered:
> "I'm angry."
---
Memories flashed in her mind.
The burning of her home.
The loss of her parents.
The moment she promised to protect Shen, Kenya, and Ruke — no matter what.
> "I wasn't born strong," she whispered.
"But I'll become strong…"
AR-8 lunged forward, laughing.
Blades of black lightning shot toward her.
She didn't move.
And then—
BOOM.
A sudden pulse of violet wind exploded outward from her chest.
Petals made of dark magic spun around her like a storm.
Her eyes glowed purple.
Her broken staff regenerated, changing shape into a long, spiral-bladed halberd of black rose metal.
Her cloak turned into swirling petals.
Her voice echoed.
> "DARK ROSE TEMPEST MODE – AWAKENED!"
The Arcane generals froze in place, feeling her magic cut into their very souls.
AR-8 stepped back. "T-This magic… it's ancient…"
> "It's mine now," Eliz said coldly.
She vanished — moving with supernatural speed.
Petals slashed across the battlefield, slicing through generals like razors. One by one they fell, unable to react.
AR-12 screamed before vanishing in a flash of violet.
AR-17 tried to block — his arms were sliced clean.
In under thirty seconds, only AR-8 remained.
He trembled.
> "You—You're not just a support mage…"
Eliz floated forward, spinning her halberd in one hand.
> "I'm your executioner."
She raised the halberd.
> "TEMPEST ENDING STRIKE — BLACK PETAL PURGE!"
A hurricane of cursed roses erupted, tearing AR-8 apart into dust.
Silence followed.
Only soft petals fell around her like rain.
Eliz fell to one knee, breathing heavily — but still smiling.
> "Don't worry, Shen. I'm still fighting… just like I promised."
